Blogging off for the rest of the week, and purging the bookmarks.
Given more than enough to do in terms of work and some vacationing, unless something really major catches my attention, I'm going to leave the fast-breaking news in the hands of the rest of the blogosphere for the next few days. Back sometime next week.
And on a totally-unrelated note, I've finally run out of patience with Eschaton and am tossing it from my well-worn list of bookmarks. It may be just a Firefox browser thing but I'm tired of being perpetually redirected to Atrios' classifieds page. There's only so much time I'm willing to invest in someone's annoyingly-designed web page.

And he doesn't have an RSS feed, so you can't read it that way. Yeah, I've sort of given up on that site, too, which is a shame because I used to like it.
Bugs the heck out of me as well. I use the Sage plugin for Firefox so I can get the short posts but a visit to the website is quickly redirected to the ads. Yuck.
I'm slowly purging my blogroll of any blog that doesn't provide an RSS feed. It's so much more efficient a way of keeping up, and if a blogger won't be bothered with it, I won't usually be bothered with that blogger. I understand that the reason they do it is because it's difficult to show ads, but there are ways of showing the ads in RSS newsfeeds now. It's not a valid reason not to have an RSS feed anymore, as far as I'm concerned.
OK, now I feel guilty that I don't have one. In my copious free time. Really. I promise.
CC: It's a simple fix in blogger. Just enable the feed in your settings and add the link to your sidebar. 10 minutes, tops.
CC, you have an RSS feed. That's how I got here. And so does Atrios.
The reason I haven't switched to firefox, though everyone is enthused about it, is that I just cannot face the prospect of learning another new system. Good old IE is good enough for now, I guess.
One thing I cannot figure out is the RSS feed -- what do I do in my blog template to make an RSS feed of my posts available to someone else? And how do I subscribe to someone else's feed? Can anyone refer me to a simple explanation for the non-technical?
