The burning stupid: Denyse O'Leary edition.

Duh.

BONUS TRACK
: More Denyse O'Leary stupid in two parts:

  • Part 1, in which Denyse is told, emphatically and repeatedly, that the word "Darwinism" is inaccurate, inappropriate, misleading, and that she should stop using it.

  • Part 2, in which Denyse forgets everything she's ever been told.

At this point, I'm thinking that the word "retarded" would be giving Denyse way too much credit.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. As Larry Moran explains, one of Denyse's guest lecturers is none other than Christian apologist and fellow ID traveller Kirk Durston. Which inspires me to ask the obvious question: Are Denyse's students paying actual money to take her course? And do they even remotely realize what kind of hideous, anti-intellectual dreck they're getting in exchange?

P.S. Don't forget to check out the comments section at that post, during which Durston has his nut sack surgically removed and handed to him to take with him on the way out.

And not just by me.

Anyone that quotes David Warren as a expert on anything other than being vociferous windbags and narrow-minded Christaliban bigot is a fausty cunt.

Oh, right Denyse. Sorry that was redundant.

These people make my brain hurt:

Kirk Durston: Darwinism, in my view, is an a priori commitment to completely materialistic explanations for the origin and diversity of life within which any intelligent role is necessarily excluded. That is what I object to.

Larry Moran: ...all scientists are committed to a completely materialistic explanation of the natural world. That's what methodological materialism (methodological naturalism) is all about.

In other words, Kirk Durston wants to use science to explain things that science does not seek to explain. Gee, I wonder how that'll work out.
