Blogging Tory dumbass of the week: Barry Stagg.

Here we go again. Here's Mr. Stagg:

This story should be a catalyst for apologia and liberal self-loathing from the hate America first brigade. What can they do to make amends to these heroic freedom fighters once again hell bent on mass murder in New York?

CBC News: N.Y. subway was al-Qaeda target, book claims:"Al-Qaeda came close to attacking the New York subway system with highly poisonous hydrogen cyanide gas in early 2003, a new book claims."

Hey, I know ... let's see what CNN has to say about this. Not the whole article -- just the tantalizing bits (emphasis added):

Two former U.S. officials with knowledge of the terror plan confirmed to CNN on Saturday night some details from Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Ron Suskind's "The One Percent Doctrine," but disagreed with others...

They disagreed with Suskind
that the terrorists were thwarted within 45 days of the planned attack; the officials said the proposed timing was not that precise...

Sen. Charles Schumer, D-New York, said authorities took the plot seriously but were never able to confirm its existence...

So, in summary, the terrorists are here, we're all gonna die, yadda yadda yadda. Is there anything good on TV tonight?

Can we nominate bloggers?

Several [I'm guessing more than one, but I only saw SDA post about it, personally] were touting "liberal children" being thugs and pounding on a 7 year old.

Try this one, buddy-

Canadian Barry Stagg says:

Proper outrage at these terrorists attacks seems to be one typical reaction. However, an atypical, but still too plentiful, attitude oozes from somewhere, taking the position that unctuous neutrality towards these demonic nihilists is the only progressive position to take.

George Bush is right on terrorism. The liberal cultural apologists of the Noam Chomsky school of hyper-civility are wrong and plainly are victims of their own close-eyed introspection.

Malcolm Muggeridge said that the defining inanity of Western liberals was that they perpetually took the position that our enemies are always right and we are always wrong. In 2001, the same was true and today we can look for more such nonsense.
