The New York Times, screwing the pooch on Social Security again.

Once again, Media Matters has to explain how that nasty liberal media
doesn't have a freaking clue how to do arithmetic when it comes to Social Security.

How hard is this? Really? It's arithmetic for Chrissake! Can't the Times just hire some high school students to explain this to them? Bloody hell.

I've been saying this for a month now! Bushco wouldn't have been able to pull off any of their scams if the average American had any grasp of basic arithmetic and percentages.

Here's an example: There's a county agency that routinely inspects gas pumps, grocery scales, etc. and certifies that they are accurate. But, whenever there's a rapid price rise in gasoline, the office is bombarded with calls from people saying stuff like "last week I could fill my tank for $20, but today it was $22. I think the pump isn't giving me the right amount of gas!"

Down here in the States, we don't do that fancy 'rithmatic. We only count as high as the number of bullets that fit into our guns.
