Quid. Pro. Quo.

HM PM Stephen "Il Douche" Harper gets bought off with another shiny, foil-wrapped chocolate trinket:

PM receives Saul Hayes Human Rights Award
Continues to defend human rights and oppose Anti-Semitism on the world stage
31 May 2009
Toronto, Ontario

Prime Minister Stephen Harper today received the Saul Hayes Human Rights Award from the Canadian Jewish Congress. This is the first time the award has been given to a serving Prime Minister.

And in short order, the Jewish right-wing pro-Israel lobby quietly comes calling to collect:

Goodyear questions Mideast forum funds

Science Minister draws ire of academics for intervening on controversial conference

Federal Science Minister Gary Goodyear is under fire from academics for asking the council that funds social science research in Canada to reconsider its support of a conference on the future of Israel and Palestine that will take place in Toronto later this month.

You expect sleazy kickbacks from this crowd but, Jesus, they can at least try to be subtle about it.

Too much finesse perhaps, but rather than the 'jewish lobby' the pro-Israel's rightwing lobby? After all, people like 'the Zerb' are part of another kind of 'jewish lobby' when it comes to the Mideast.

That sounds like a piece-of-shit of an award.

Who won it last year? An IDF trooper who lost the most human shields?

*sigh*

The watchers are out in full force...

Why is every other ethnic group allowed to have a lobby, but not the Jews?

Oh, wait, they do have one. But you aren't allowed to call it a "lobby." That's "anti-Semitic." But then, complaining about being called anti-Semitic is also anti-Semitic.

Sorry, the link is inoperative.

Here's another.

Gosh, it even has a name: "The Livingstone Formulation."

So what do we call taking exception to being accused of antisemitism for taking exception to being accused of antisemitism.

...and so on and so forth.

I suppose it's really just an issue of reductio ad Hitleram. It's goes on until you become virtually, objectively, scientifcally Hitler.
