I get an answer of $1.002.The infinite series (i.e. last term) = 1/(1-1/2) = 2.I think that the middle term is equal to -1, but I'm admittedly not sure.
OK, now I'm sure:e ^ (ix) = cos(x) + i * sin(x)so if x = pi, thene ^ (i * pi) = cos(pi) + i * sin(pi)meanwhile cos(pi) = -1 and sin(pi) = 0, soe ^ (i * pi) = -1 + i * 0 = -1
