When casting needs an offensive, homophobic wingnut, who ya gonna call?

The Mittster takes a question and tap dances around it as only he can:

A New Hampshire woman, frustrated with Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney’s opposition to gay marriage, made a point Wednesday of telling him about her personal experience.

"I am a gay woman and I have children. Your comment that you just made, it sort of invalidates my family," said Cynthia Fish, a mother of a 6- and 8-year-old. "... I wish you could explain to me more, why if we are sending our troops over to fight for liberty and justice for all throughout this country, why not for me? Why not for my family?"

Romney paused, asked Fish about her children and then praised her.

"Wonderful," Romney said. "I’m delighted that you have a family and you’re happy with your family. That’s the American way. ... People can live their lives as they choose and children can be a great source of joy, as you know. And I welcome that."

But then Romney repeated his view of marriage.

And with Romney having marginalized the questioner and run screaming away from the question, who -- I ask you, who -- would have the prerequisite lack of class, grace and common courtesy to suggest that it's the questioner who has mental problems?

Behold.

Yeah, that one was too easy. I'll try to make the next one harder.

Only in the US can a presidential candidate get away with such outright bullshit about marriage "its about the children don't ya know". Nobody seems to have the where with all to state the obvious about old people, infertile and childless couples. By his logic, they too do not deserve marriage and should be banned. How about atheists? Isn't marriage a religious institution? This stupidity in the US about gay marriage is not about marriage at all. Never fucking was, and never was in our own Neo-Con bullshiters here at home. It's about smearing the gays to create fear amongst the amazingly stupid voting population.

It seems to be a leftard need to find a daddy figure, someone who only says "empowering" things, someone to make the bad go away. Romney doesn't "feel your pain" enough for you? He "invalidates" you? Tough shit, that's not his problem. If you don't like his views, which he is entitled to hold, then...wait for it.... don't fucking vote for him.
Let's not kid ourselves here: this woman already knew Romney's views on marriage. She was motivated enough to seek out the opportunity to speak to him in person, to have her say and see his reaction, so let's not pretend his answer was a fucking surprise to her. He was honest enough to not bullshit her and give her his views again.

Only a shithead could call that marginalizing the woman. Only a moron could call that running away from the question. You should fuck off now and go hug your teddy bear.

Whoa amosbsk--where the hell did that come from? It's you who's reading 'daddy figure' into things like some sort of Freudian need to justify the belittlement of your fellow citizen.
A question was asked by a second-class citizen looking for answers to her plight.
Since the current law makes her a second-class citizen--not entitled to the same rights and privileges as the 'straight' citizens around her, she had every right to ask the question and expect an answer. And the guy ducked the question because he didn't want to lose votes from his base. What kind of system puts votes before what's good for society anyway?
It's obvious that you have the compassion and understanding of a 4 year old--sit down and let the adults work out the issues.

No Freudian bullshit at all, moron, just reality. You nutroot assholes spend a lot of time whining about fucking nonsense like this crap. And you're stupid on top of that.

She has the right to ask her question, and she did. No one denied her that right. Try paying attention. Romney answered her, she just didn't like his fucking answer. Too goddamn bad. You are too fucking thick to understand that he was honest and obviously not putting votes above all else. If he wanted her vote, he'd have pumped her full of Clintonian "I-feel-your-pain" bullshit and sent her on her way. He instead told her his opinion and she can decide from there whether she likes it or not. He treated her like an adult, something you are too fucking dense to see.
As for "what's good for society", each one has to make up his own mind about that. Who says your view is carved in stone? That's why we have elections, asshole.

    amosbsk:
Romney's answer was bullshit. Pure, unadulterated bullshit. These phoney "christian" politicians love spewing about "the children" on this issue. Wake up you freak Romney, gays have children too for fuck sakes. Romney insulted this woman and her family by saying shit like, oh isn't it wonderful you can choose how to live. Slap! Double Slap! But don't expect any dignity from us. I'm so sick of these god damn liars who know it all about gay and lesbian people. They know jack shit and have no right to judge especially using the stupid bible in a secular democracy, well, the US used to be anyway. Now its flypaper for lying, hypocritical sel-righteous "christians".

He didn't judge her, he repeated, because she asked, his views on marriage. Give your fucking head a shake: she's a gay woman trying to talk to the ex-governor of Massachusetts, you know, the state where gays can marry. She already knew what Romney's views were going in. You dipshits have your panties in a twist because he didn't kiss her ass like a good liberal would. Like I said before, if she doesn't like his views, she can exercise her right to not fucking vote for him.

And if you actually think that complimenting someone on their family is an insult, you are truly fucked in the head.

Where was his answer to the question? He avoided it by the sugary language. Only in your screwed up mind would a sappy answer that doesn't even come close to what the question was asking be taken as a good one.
Did he mention anything about how gays and lesbians are treated differently--by law-- than straights and how he would rectify that? THat's the question, and, like Mitt, you avoid it as well.
We're looking for what's right and what's Just. You're looking for ways to keep that which you don't like quiet. Your ranting here shows that quite clearly.

Amosbsk you still don't get it. Romney's "views" are bullshit. He did not complement this woman and her family, he insisted on belittling her by stating that she and her family were NOT entitled to the same rights as straights. No panties in a twist here Amosbsk, just sick of lying phonies like Romney, who hide hate behind the bible and this incredibly phoney "family values" horseshit. Funny how people like you always use personal attacks against anyone who disagrees with you...I called a politican out on an obvious bold-faced lie and you call me "truly fucked in the head". Good for you little man/woman, whatever you are.

You pair of whiners are regulars here, are you not? Why don't you read the links 'ole CC provided you. But here's a hint: read the links on those links, too. If you do that, you'll come to another New Hampshire paper with more of the story. Romney supports gay rights up to but not including marriage. Spousal contracts, or some such thing. The simple fact is that the woman just doesn't like his answer, and that is just too damn bad.

So, Sparky, Romney did say what he was willing to do for gays, you just couldn't be bothered to read all the links. If you do so next time, maybe you won't look so much like you're talking out your ass.

Waterboy, you are a fucking joke. You say Romney's views are "bullshit" and call him a liar for his fucking opinion, and then you have the gall to say "Funny how people like you always use personal attacks against anyone who disagrees with you." with no sense of the sheer irony involved. You are a waste of time.

    amosbsk:

Your insults are pathetic, they really are. I can just see your blood pressure rise as you pound on your keyboard. The only tactic you seem to have is to pounce. I'm well aware of what Romney has said and his views on gay people, amongst a plethora of other issues. I don't think he is an honest man, period. What the hell is wrong with calling bullshit on a politician's feeble arguments? You never call a dishonest politician to task? Somehow I doubt that. Go ahead, praise Romney, doesn't change the fact that he is not an honest man. Oh, and by the way, have a great weekend buddy! Cheers.

I'm not praising him, I'm calling you on your nonsense. Unless you have knowledge that his opinion is different from what he says it is, you cannot possibly say crap like "I called a politican out on an obvious bold-faced lie" and be taken seriously.

You don't think Romney is an honest man: that is your opinion. You are entitled to hold it, and I am entitled to agree, disagree, or not give a rat's ass. But I cannot call you a liar because it's your opinion and I have no choice but to take you at your word. I can't read your mind. Likewise, you cannot read Romney's.

I don't care at all about Romney or his views because I don't think he has a snowball's chance of becoming President. But he did nothing wrong here. Unless it has become a crime to not blow smoke up someone's ass.

  12. Will everyone please stop feeding the mentally retarded troll? He's clearly too stupid to understand the real issue -- that Romney has completely flip-flopped on the issue of gay marriage.

When someone goes from saying that "I am more convinced than ever before that as we seek to establish full equality for America's gays and lesbian citizens" to "Like the vast majority of Americans, I've opposed same-sex marriage," that's just being a two-faced douchebag, for which people have an absolute right to be pissed with him.

So, amosbsk, do us all a favour and take your ignorant hyper-ventilating somewhere else. You obviously don't have a clue what this is all about, and it's unlikely you're capable of learning.

Strange, isn't it, that it's only after I bitch slap a couple of your regulars that you decide to change the topic of the post? Funny how it's now all about Romney flip-flopping and not about his lack of compassion or some such bullshit.

And what a fucking shock, you ban my handle from being able to post a comment in reply to you when you finally show up. How absolutely fucking predictable. You know, at least Sparky and the Waterboy had the pills to fight back. You are the textbook example of a gutless liberal.
