This kind of stuff is exactly why I hate being where I am on the political spectrum. I am much more inclined to people who have empathy for the poor and feel compassion for them (even if I don't agree with the solutions they propose) than I am with the screeching ninnies who ooze contempt towards such people with every key stroke.
It's just downright embarrassing I tell you...I got involved with politics and the study of economics in the first place because I wanted to make the world a better place for everybody in it... But for the most part, all I see from the so-called right in Canada is a vexatious hatred towards so many different kinds of people.. a hatred that is palpable that I can't stomach their company.
I am in no man's land, because I don't fit in with the right when it comes to their motivations and I don't fit in with the left, because I don't fit in with their solutions.
I think much of what seems to manifest itself as right-wing think online is thinly veiled sadism... honestly. I could understand people being indifferent... but the right wing in Canada seems to actively want to harm poor people, who are the most vulnerable members of society. It's disgusting.
And leftists love poor people.
