And how many of the fellow travellers cozying up to Harper (like his new boy Wall and ever supportive 'insert name of Leader of Alberta here') would be askance at 'shifting' what's paid for or not under the provincial plan with tacit approval from Conservative Central? This while NB is still struggling to get decent access for abortion services. At this point, I put nothing past them. Nothing. Especially with all the re-rigging of healthcare control gone on in Alberta.Nileshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04096047389811381098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6708375.post-22433715062765519522008-12-29T18:54:00.000-05:002008-12-29T18:54:00.000-05:00You know what, maybe it's a good thing this should...You know what, maybe it's a good thing this should come out now... The only reason it''s getting so much attention right now is because Parliament is prorogued and there's nothing else going on. Also because the caucus chairmanship has changed, and that doesn't happen every year. In fact, it hardly ever happens -- Maurice Vellacott has held the position for the last 8 years (latterly with Paul Steckle as co-chair).

It's also been suggested that this could be a trial balloon with the end game being cuts to abortion funding... but I'm pretty sure that funding falls under provincial jurisdiction.

In short, it's probably a non-issue. But it would still be fun to out the creeps!! :pJJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09458917081261136618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6708375.post-55814690673287827672008-12-29T12:39:00.000-05:002008-12-29T12:39:00.000-05:00It does smell like a trial balloon. Count on it.

Lot of trial balloons in the air this month: hints at major cuts to Aboriginal funding, big cuts to CBC, a new push by the foetishists... pre-budget testing of waters.Balbulicanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03909755014063452689noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6708375.post-36464895963124554192008-12-29T12:09:00.000-05:002008-12-29T12:09:00.000-05:00Time will tell.
