As is his custom, The Politic's Matthew waxes eloquent on matters of which he knows nothing, and carefully fails to mention that he has, on numerous occasions, been paddled soundly for his dishonesty and ignorance, only to wander off until everyone's forgotten, then return to claim victory.
Matthew's latest atrocity is a discourse on the wretched Intelligent Design movie "Expelled," and Matthew is in fine form:
Expelled & A Word to the Wise
Something rare happened over the course of the last week for me: I struggled to write a post for this website. I knew what I wanted to write on, and some points that I wanted to make, yet discussing the Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed! documentary (now in theatres across America) has yielded more reaction for me in four posts over three months than all of the rest of my posts combined since late 2006.
Before we go any further, it behooves us to understand what kind of film is "Expelled," and what kind of film it is is explained nicely here, then here. Yes, it will take a while but, upon your return, you will understand one simple fact.
"Expelled" is a piece of shit.
Seriously, it is a dishonest, slanderous piece of dreck whose scientific content is precisely zero, and whose dripping, conspiratorial tones appeal only to the most retarded among us. Hence, Matthew's fawning adoration. But having set the stage, let's now deal with Matthew, and his jaw-dropping self-absorption with his own importance:
... has yielded more reaction for me in four posts over three months than all of the rest of my posts combined since late 2006. Most of that has been hostile shouts from those who don’t like to be reminded that theirs isn’t the only view in the world, but on the other hand, I aim to add something to the debate every time I go to my keyboard here at the The Politic.
No, Matthew -- you didn't get that kind of savage reaction simply because people didn't want to hear your point of view. You got that reaction because you were stupid, really stupid, and astonishingly stupid.
You got that reaction, Matthew, because you were so hopelessly dishonest and scientifically illiterate that normal people simply could not believe anyone could be that retarded.
You got that reaction because you made claims that were so mind-numbingly idiotic that commenters stopped by to figure out whether you were really saying what they thought you were saying since they just couldn't believe their eyes the first time.
And, Matthew, you got that reaction because you've developed an ugly reputation for writing crap, challenging your readers to refute it and, when they do, you conveniently vanish for days or weeks, only to reappear and ignore the intellectual beating you took in your absence, pretending it never happened and therefore claiming that no one was able to rise to the challenge.
In short, Matthew, you are an ignorant, lying little turd and, by now, everyone who's followed this adventure knows it. And to suddenly pop up and start writing about the movie "Expelled" as if you hadn't had your ass handed to you several times over already is the height of dishonesty. So I'm not going to waste a lot more time on this.
P.S. Oh, Matthew ... about that query as to "why scientists (those with PhDs and impressive resumes) who discuss Intelligent Design are ostracized," well, feel free to educate yourself. It would be nice if you ended up being at least marginally knowledgeable about something.

Wow. I'm going to have to check it out.
I will as well, but only after someone's put a copy on Google Video....which I'll assume conforms to copyright law.
...I know, I know...I should pay for content. I'll make a donation in lieu to some cause that helps people who've been traumatised by fanatical cults. I hear the CPC accepts donations...and gives good return for the money!
PZ suggests a "stupid credit" - donate the price of your ticket to the National Center for Science Education or some such worthy scientific enterprise.
I'll donate, but I'm still not going to stuff myself into a theatre with the likes of Matthew and suffer through that steaming pile of donkey diarrea. I've seen enough clips sneaked onto YouTube, read enough scathing reviews from the sane who have seen it and glowing accolades from the insane who have done the same, to know that life is too short to waste an hour and a half of it wishing I had the entire cabal behind that movie at my mercy.
But lordy, do they make themselves easy targets when you want to go skeet shoot teh stoopid...
