Worst. Movie. Ever.

The drunken elves/butt-crack-flashing reno dudes are finally gone so I should have my first real post up tomorrow ...

Until then, top this. Go on - I dare you to come up with something worse.

  2. Alright Lulu, I will see your Capricorn One, and raise you one Battle Beyond the Stars. Bad effects and John Boy Walton. And Robert Vaughn. And John Saxon.

  3. You've opened a can of worms here. I linked to some pretty dreadful stuff to this post, but I think "Battlefield Earth" is easily one of, if not THE single most dreadful film of all time.

  4. You people are such amateurs. Behold the indescribable badness. And to think I own this on DVD.

  5. CC, I'm not talking so bad it's might be good, I'm talking so bad you actually consider using a melon baller to remove that part of your brain where the memory of it resides ... now that's bad.

David, anything with John Boy belongs.

RT, I had forgotten about "Battlefield Earth" (melon baller?). Probably becaue I couldn't finish watching it ...

  6. Ah, Capricorn One. I recall fondly the days when imagining government officials lying was a fun fantasy.

  7. Precisely. Plan 9 is a cat of a different breed — movies so catastrophically awful they’re actually “good” in their own wickedly perverse fashion.

And speaking of cheap laughs, check out the example provided.

  8. I saw an unbelievably bad movie on IFC just yesterday: Escape Velocity starring Wendy Crewson and a gang of unknown Canadians. Just appalling, especially because it took itself seriously. I bet Crewson regrets doing that.

  9. CC, Plan 9 is bad, but fantastically bad. So bad that you cannot make a parody of it. And it is no "Ice Pirates". Melon baller bad was that one.

    See for yourself:

  10. If you want indescribable badness, you can look at a lot of Canadian films from the 70's and early 80's, but the one that sticks in my mind most was The Clown Murders, but that's mostly because of the strange presence of Al Waxman.

  11. many Canadian low budget films of the 70s and 80s were referred to as Dentist Movies, because they were funded by professionals - Dentists, Doctors, Lawyers - seeking tax shelters and write offs

  12. None of the sci-fi above holds a torch to badness--it's so bad it's basically unknown...

    Zardoz

That one actually physically hurt my brain whilst watching.
