I'm almost choked up, but that might bring on a tea bagging joke.<br /><br />Honestly, after Sarbanes-Oxley which was designed to increase transparency, it's hard to really blame the crisis on de-regulation. SOX was the biggest piece of govt regulation in decades.<br /><br />I think it's reasonable to blame the greedy bankers, the government who forced banks to make loans through red-lining, and the irresponsible individuals who applied for mortgages they couldn't afford to collectively share the blame.
