"Does anyone here know how to law?"

Let me summarize this astonishingly idiotic emergency Ottawa Police Services Board meeting:

"None of us here know how the law actually works."

I am not fucking kidding ... every single person in that meeting who was asked about how the law works admitted that they did not know but would be happy to look into it.

If Peter Sloly is still the chief of police 24 hours from now, this city deserves what it gets.

Cops have two basic rules for dealing with protests - don't get separated from other cops and when in doubt bust heads. Leave the law talking to the lawyers.

Sloly should have been fired by mid-week at the latest.

Christ, I hoped your were joking. They might as well have just said, "We've tried nothing, and we're all out of ideas", instead of having the meeting go on for as long as it did.

Maybe to help the cops' mindset, they should think of these occupiers as homeless people. I mean, if they've been here this long, and plan on being there for as long as the mandates are a thing...clearly they don't have a home to go back to. So make like y'all usually do with the homeless, and beat the shit out of them, and either arrest them or shove them off elsewhere so they're someone else's problem. Those billy clubs aren't going to crack skulls themselves.

Yes, I realize that technically they have a home in their semis, but in reality, no one who actually lives out of their vehicle would be thought of as having a home...no matter what Twatsy might think, given his possible current situation.

And obviously no, I'm not condoning law enforcement types beating up people, but given their behaviour with previous protests, what's good for the goose...
