Ah, irony.

  • Erin O'Toole, publicly supported lawbreaking truckers occupying Ottawa: Fired.
  • Peter Sloly, police chief who graciously allowed lawbreaking truckers to have their way with Ottawa: Resigned.
  • Justin Trudeau: Properly described lawbreaking truckers as fascist scum: Still Prime Minister.

Sloly was inept.
He still is.
Resigning will not change that.
It's a cop-out.

Just read Tom Parkin saying that Erin O'Toole and Peter Sloly are "victims of the blockades and occupation".

Tom Parkin showing that he's an NDP fluffer and missing the point.

Erin O'Toole is a Con. He made a deal with the SoCons in his party and is paying the price. The Conservatives are still supporting the Trucker Tantrum. He's not a "victim", he was inept and should have never had the position.

As for Peter Sloly, he was lacklustre in Toronto - Ottawa just cemented his reputation. He's not a "victim", he was inept and should have never had the position. (bis)

Both enabled the far-right.

that Sloly resigned in the middle of this crisis shows his abolute abject cowardice. It is like a heart surgeon deciding he just can't stand the sight of blood and must retire -- two minutes after he has already cracked your chest for open-heart surgery. I hope his severance package includes a swift kick in the plums.
