Is this history's most perfect grift? You be the judge.

Ohmigod, this is just too delicious ... Rebel News' Ezra Levant openly admits that he's divvied up $100,000 exclusively amongst whatever lawyers he's decided should be entitled to share in the largesse horked up by the intellectual defectives of Rebel Nation, with another $50,000 to come:

only to just now concede that all of this becomes irrelevant in two weeks:

No matter ... regardless of the legal outcome, what's important is the end result of splitting the pot of the $100K that was collected to fight this utterly-doomed stupidity. I'm sure the lawyers brought on by Rebel News to argue this imbecility are being consummate professionals about this:

Now Ezra is claiming donations are tax deductible because it's a "civil liberties case."

All these tax deductions through shady third parties sure make Ezra and Rebel look suspicious.

And note that not one penny goes to the "victims" here. The Rebel's disclaimer makes it very clear that the Rebel can siphon off whatever it wants to cover "website development, website hosting, mail, and other such expenses including to pay our journalists' salaries. Additional funds will be used towards other similar initiatives in the future."

So the Rebel can skim off as much as it likes to pay its own operating expenses, dole the rest out to its handpicked lawyers, and issue charitable receipts.

I cannot believe no media outlet has picked up on this, or that CRA allows it to continue.

Wow. Talk about "charity begins at home"!
