The rich live by a different set of rules.

The plot thickens:

OTTAWA — The finance minister's office says Jim Flaherty flew on a government jet for a photo-op at a Tim Horton's in London, Ont., last Friday, but the plane wasn't a Challenger jet that ministers use when commercial flights are not available.

Flaherty's communications director Mike Storeshaw told CTV News the minister commandeered a Transport Canada jet that is not usually available for the use of cabinet ministers.

The minister's office has not responded to requests from CTV News to identify the type of aircraft and the cost per hour to Canadian taxpayers.

But ... but ... but ... the Liberals!!!

Speaking with CTV's Question Period from Calgary, Stockwell Day said Flaherty needed to take a late-night flight from Ottawa to arrive in London in time to make a "whole line-up of back-to-back meetings."

Day also said that the Conservatives have used fewer private flights that the previous Liberal government.

In unrelated news, the Catholic Church responded to accusations of sexual abuse of children by pointing out that sodomy of altar boys was down a full 35 per cent so that should count for something, right?

call me crazy, but I bet it would have been cheaper to take a taxi from Ottawa to London than to take a govt jet.

The Google tells me it takes six hours and 31 minutes to drive from Ottawa to London.

You'd think that Flaherty is so full of hot air, that he wouldn't need a plane.
