Dear CBC:

For the love of God (no pun intended), would you please get rid of that worthless cementhead Mary Hynes, her execrable "Tapestry" program, and those mind-numbingly useless and senile guests of hers?

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

I assume you are making reference to the show that aired today. Some Oxford wank who blathered on and on about how Christopher Hitchens et al were imbeciles for spouting their atheistic beliefs. He was dreadfully boring, and she was embarrassingly fawning.

Boring and fawning is pretty much the recipe for that hideous show. They should just rename it to "Travesty."

Yes, really. Especially when Christopher Hitchens et al are imbeciles on so many other subjects, too.

I never listen to that show. But I think I'll dowload this episode. I've gotten really tired of the screeching from the "new atheists." So has Susan Jacoby, a secular humanist/atheist who thinks they're out of their league when they start talking about spirituality/myth/symbolism etc. etc.

The latest embarrassment regarding the award the anti-science Bill Maher got made even the Vatican astronomer think the atheists were being had.

I don't know - it usually comes on just about in time for my Sunday afternoon nap; makes a great sedative.

Oh, dear, you and kkkate have something in common:

"This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - 'You don't speak for me.'"

Anyway, as the CBC's inimitable Bob Kerr once replied to a complaint about the music he played on his show: "There's a little knob on the side of your radio...use it!"

I'm sure if ever they get their funding back, "Tapesty" will at least turn back into a once-per-day thing.

I believe the anti-Hitchens show the other day was a rerun, too.

And personally, I'll be annoyed by the "New Atheists" when they start having their own cable networks and raking in millions while paying no taxes. So let me know when that happens, eh?

I listened to the episode this morning and I don't see what the big deal is. I guess if more religious people were like Terry Eagleton, the atheists wouldn't have as much to rail against.

I don't get why Tapestry is so rage-inducing for some people around here. There exist people who want to talk about religion from a non-atheist point of view. And this is a problem because?

I listened to another broadcast of Tapestry yesterday evening, the one from October 4th. Richard Dawkins was given a full hour to plug his latest book in an entirely non-confrontational interview. The only thing he seemed to know about Canada was that we had recently debated the introduction of Sharia law.

Stick to biology, Dawkins.
