Racism? WHAT racism?

Blogging Tory "Canadian Cincinnatus" is, like, totally down with the dog whistle-flavoured bigotry:

"And nigger jokes," continued Cincinnatus, "I have some great nigger jokes. These two niggers walk into a liquor store ..."

You know, they really should just write "Censored" across the "add comment" button on conservative blogs.

Free speech my Harper-loathing ass.

Ahh, so this is what he looks like without the make-up.

Would Cincinnatus have published this if it were Bill Clinton made to look like the joker? Yes. You made it about race, not Cincinnatus. And he didn't use the "N" word. You did. Several times.

And it would be funny then. The Joker is a white man with white makeup. Nobody looks at the Joker and thinks of minstrel shows, blackface and racism, bonehead. But a black man in whiteface? Yes you immediately think of the good old days. That was the intent, to keep the racist right happy. The "Barrack HUSSEIN Obama" routine is getting too stale so they finally got some new material.

You made it about race, not Cincinnatus.
Bullshit. Nobody ever published pictures of Bush as the alcoholic he is. Not even during the pretzel incident. But the racist right wants to remind everyone there's niggers in the White House and they're not just mowing the lawns.

And he didn't use the "N" word. You did. Several times.
Boo hoo hoo. You don't like that you can't quote what the racists really want to say, do you? Why aren't you using it? You know you want to. Aren't you in favour of free speech?

CC said...

You're right, MikeDowntown -- he never actually used the "N" word. What I should have done was prefixed that entire quote with, "So what you're saying is ..." and everything would have been cool.

I've heard that that excuses everything.

Jon Pertwee said...

I found this on Jerome Bastien's profile "When it comes to hobbies, Jerome is a jack-of-all-trades and master of none." Master of none indeed.

To CC and liberal supporter: if it makes you feel better about yourselves to point at others and shout, "racist, racist," then go ahead, but all your arm-waving doesn't change the fact that President Obama's trillion dollar deficit is making Wall Street investment bankers rich and the next generation poor.
You have both convinced me, however, that Cincinnatus is wrong. If the caricature of Obama as the joker allows you to shift the discussion from President Obama's economic policies to race relations, then it's a bad poster. President Obama won my admiration in his fight against Hillary Clinton by keeping race as far out of the discussion as possible. You should both follow his example.

WiseGuy said...

Anybody who sees racism in the Cincinnatus's blog, must be projecting their own racism.

This blog has put up a false quote and the liberal poster should apologize to the Canadian Cincinnatus and correct the post to indicate clearly that the words are NOT taken from the Cincinnatus's blog (as is implied by the quotation marks).

The Cynic has made a mistake, and needs to make it right.

What is posted here gives a bad name to all bloggers and does not serve anybody.

Wow, TWO, count'em TWO people who just started blogs this month.

Hey "MikeDowntown" and "WiseGuy", who are you jokers really?

Hahahahahahaha!

with respect to the explanation that its racist to white-paint the face of a black man, i would point to the amazing lack of outrage when this was done to republican Michael Steele by about.com.

here

and clearly, the poster was done to make a point about obama's policies, not his race. to see otherwise is in the eye of the beholder.

but its to be expected, now any opposition of any kind to obama is seen as racist, which is a shining example of the inability of the left to make any kind of logical argument in defense of their policies. better to cry 'racist' at any opposition, its easier than to think things through.

and to jon pertwee, to google my name based on this very innocent comment i left is just hilarious. you may want to report me to your fascist master, at flag@whitehouse.gov.

Maybe because nobody knows or cares who Michael Steele is.

Plus, if you click "prev" or "next", you will see pictures of other Retardicans in clown makeup. He's 7th in a list of 15 clowns. Nice try with the false equivalence.

and clearly, the poster was done to make a point about obama's policies, not his race. to see otherwise is in the eye of the beholder.
Then why not include Biden, Pelosi and whoever else you like also photoshopped in whiteface? Because they're white, that's why.

but its to be expected, now any opposition of any kind to obama is seen as racist, which is a shining example of the inability of the left to make any kind of logical argument in defense of their policies. better to cry 'racist' at any opposition, its easier than to think things through.
Please re-read your talking point fax from Facsist Central. You are expected to make it sound somewhat original, and not just yet another cut and paste.

you may want to report me to your fascist master.
Make up your mind, racist. Fascist or socialist? And the "flag" email address is for reporting the lies themselves, not the liars like yourself. Countering the lies is what they want to do, the liars are discrediting themselves all by themselves. Hunting down people who disagree is what your people are so good at, you racist fascist.

Hahahahahahahahaha!

love your lefty-logic lib supporter.

so its only racist if the person being white-faced is somebody who's as famous as the president? got it. I thought something was racist if it demeaned somebody because of their race. Now I understand the double-standard. Funny how it always works out that doing the same thing with a republican is progressive genius and doing it with a democrat is horrible racism.

and yeah clearly the fact that this was a poster about the president makes it all the more racist. I mean why didnt he include Biden and Pelosi and Howard Dean and Ted Kennedy? Geez, what a racist, making a point about the president without also making that same point about the whole administration? these racists are so stupid.

oh and if normal intelligent people have the same reaction to lefties always crying racist at the drop of a hat, it might be because, hold on let me think, this is hard, oh yeah, because lefties always cry racist at the drop of a hat. you provide us with the talking points - it is easy to make fun of you guys you know, no need for instructions from the top. Unlike you guys, where you guys clearly need to be told what to do, and unthinking thugs go in and do the president's bidding.

fascist or socialist? the two are very closely related. mussolinni was a card-carrying socialist, and the national Socialist German's workers party was, well the national socialist german's workers party. funny how history is repeating itself?

No you don't you lying fascist. Is "lefty-logic" what you are trained to bleat when you are flummoxed once again?

so its only racist if the person being white-faced is somebody who's as famous as the president? got it.
No you didn't get it. Your condescending sneer doesn't hide the fact that your counter "example" showed many Republicans painted as the clowns they are. The fact they only had one black guy is your problem.

I thought something was racist if it demeaned somebody because of their race.
You're getting warm.

Now I understand the double-standard. Funny how it always works out that doing the same thing with a republican is progressive genius and doing it with a democrat is horrible racism.
Funny how it always works out that the perpetually offended fascists cannot see anything beyond the views they are fed each morning in their talking points. Funny how they continue with their false equivalences long after being refuted.

and yeah clearly the fact that this was a poster about the president makes it all the more racist. I mean why didnt he include Biden and Pelosi and Howard Dean and Ted Kennedy? Geez, what a racist, making a point about the president without also making that same point about the whole administration? these racists are so stupid.
You got it, except you probably think you are being sarcastic. Your whining about the lack of outrage over a bunch of Republicans being painted as clowns is silly. Trying to claim that is the same as a single poster about Obama is even sillier. Yes, you racists are stupid. That's because racism is based on a stupid concept to begin with.

oh and if normal intelligent people have the same reaction to lefties always crying racist at the drop of a hat, it might be because, hold on let me think, this is hard, oh yeah, because lefties always cry racist at the drop of a hat.
When you keep acting like racists at the drop of a hat, and then whine about others crying racist at the drop of a hat, you exclude yourselves from the ranks of normal intelligent people.

you provide us with the talking points - it is easy to make fun of you guys you know, no need for instructions from the top.
And now the usual denial that all your town hall disruptions and your poster campaigns are orchestrated by your fascist overlords.

Unlike you guys, where you guys clearly need to be told what to do, and unthinking thugs go in and do the president's bidding.
And next comes the claim that everyone but yourselves are all mindless robots.

fascist or socialist? the two are very closely related. mussolinni was a card-carrying socialist, and the national Socialist German's workers party was, well the national socialist german's workers party. funny how history is repeating itself?
And the Democratic People's Republic of Korea belongs to the People, and is democratic, by your logic, since that is what they call themselves. I guess that's why a Democrat former President was sent to get those journalists out of there. It must have been quite the large dinner over the negotiations with the all 23 million of the People in order to get the journalists released, no?

What other totalitarian dictators do you simply take their word for it with regard to their stated ideology, or anything else?

thanks for the entertainment. i havent seen such bad craziness since i ran into ti-guy.

i totally get it: when a black republican is white-painted its not racist because there are other non-black republicans who are also white-painted, and when only obama is face-painted then its racist, after all why focus on obama he's only the president. so let me try to extricate some kind of logic out of this: if you do something that's on its face racist, but you do it to white people as well, its not racist even if you do it to black people too. awesome. i apologize for my ignorance - its probably because i didnt take that white amerikkkan-zionist imperialism is destroying the world course in university.

your comparison to the democratic peoples' republic of korea is always made when people try to deny that fascism is a form of socialism. there is however a major difference between the two. the name of a political party and the name of a country are two different things and are chosen based on different considerations. kim il-sung might have thought he was being clever by naming north korea like that, but he did it once he had an iron fist on the country already. you might be forgetting that the nazis were actually elected democratically, and that it doesnt make any sense for an "extreme rightwing" party as the myth goes, to portray themselves as some kind of far-left socialist morons. dont worry though, this is nothing against you, you have probably been taught this nonsense in school. it just doesnt stand up to scrutiny.

regardless of the name, if the political spectrum is to have any meaning whatsoever, you would expect a gradual change in policies as you move to the spectrum. but yet we are supposed to buy the notion that moderate conservatives want lower taxes, less state intervention, and respect for law and order, and if you move just a tiny bit down the spectrum, you have massive state intervention, authoritarianism, totalitarianism and eugenics. its complete nonsense.

and besides, as beautifully documented by Jonah Goldberg in Liberal Fascism, the Fascist (i.e. Mussolinni's party, not just the ideology) and the nazi campaign literature and ideology is rife with lefty talking points - from the failure of free markets in the depression era, to fighting for worker's rights and all that stuff, and standing up for the little guy...

Also, the term fascism is derived from the italian fascio, which means bundle - check out the Fascist flag. The idea is to represent a collective ideology as opposed to the individualism which I dont think even you would contest is a value of the right.

Interesting straw man. I wonder where you'll go with your false equivalence?

Quite the oxymoron, embedding the word "logic" in your willful obtuseness.

The Obama poster is clearly showing "blackface", except in negative. The coon like eyes, and the emphasized red lips are the giveaways. Quite unlike the poster of Steele and 14 others depicted in clown makeup. Lines showing huge eyes and a huge mouth. I don't think "minstrel show" looking at Steele, do you?

Your equivalence fails on this. It is quite ok to depict people as clowns like you would see at a circus. Blackface is quite another thing with a ton of baggage that most people see unless they are sniggering buffoons like yourself. Yes, I said sniggering, you fool.

you might be forgetting that the nazis were actually elected democratically, and that it doesnt make any sense for an "extreme rightwing" party as the myth goes, to portray themselves as some kind of far-left socialist morons.
They didn't "portray themselves as far-left socialist morons", you moron. They were very anti-communist and anti-marxist. They promised a vast welfare state, nationalization of trusts and profit sharing in industry. Mainly this was to counter the advantages they claimed the Jews had. Note they promised "profit sharing" in industry. Not nationalization of industry. Nationalizing trusts would mainly take the money from Jews, and they were fine with that. But they were as corporatist as they come.

dont worry though, this is nothing against you, you have probably been taught this nonsense in school. it just doesnt stand up to scrutiny.
Actually it does. But don't let that get in the way of your canned condescending sneer. Really, I wish you guys would get better material.

Of course what you wrote is complete nonsense. That's because you are conflating the ideological spectrum with the democracy vs dictatorship spectrum. Your "tiny bit down the spectrum" is a false premise. You don't need to go even a tiny bit down the spectrum. You look on the other axis, the democracy vs dictatorship spectrum. All dictatorships involve massive state intervention of one kind or another, authoritarianism and eugenics, don't they?

the nazi campaign literature and ideology is rife with lefty talking points - from the failure of free markets in the depression era, to fighting for worker's rights and all that stuff, and standing up for the little guy...
Which proves what, besides that they will say anything to seize power? You consider it "lefty" that workers should be considered as more than slaves? It's "lefty" that the little guy should have some rights, such as the vote? And of course everything lefty is bad. At least you are consistent.

The idea is to represent a collective ideology as opposed to the individualism which I dont think even you would contest is a value of the right.
Their "collective" ideology only went so far as rabid nationalism, which would be used to excuse any acts committed by the dictatorship.
Don't try to claim individualism as a value of the "right", chum. For most people, giving a damn about other people, and helping them to reach a level between their needs and their wants is simply smart self interest. That gives the individual much more freedom. It lets the individual walk down a street without stepping over the dying bodies of people who just aren't worthy in your view. It means they don't have to be surrounded by bodyguards at all times and armed to the teeth in their own self made prisons. It means they don't have to worry about dying of diseases that can easily be contained. Many of The "right" often call "individualism" what is really a dog eat dog world in which one false move means you're dead. Free to die. Free to be exploited. And free to set yourself up as dictator to solve these problems when people grow tired of this kind of "freedom" which is simply orchestrated anarchy.

Jerome Bastien said...

the obama poster is clearly showing blackface in negative? that's hilarious. i thought it was showing the joker from batman. occam's razor. but feel free to project all the subliminal racist messages conveyed by that. thank god you're there so you can let us know when an otherwise obvious comparison of obama to the joker is actually a subliminal racist message.

Like you said, the nazis promised a vast welfare state and they were anti-communists. The vast welfare state is a dead giveaway that this is a lefty thing. And its not because one is anti-communist that they are not socialist.

You're right about the other "axis" on the spectrum too. Clearly when I say the nazis were lefties (and make no mistake, they were), i dont mean to say that all lefties are nazis. The nazis were on the left economically, and high on the authoritarian scale. But still my point about the spectrum is true, you dont nudge a moderate conservative to the right and get a nazi, what you get is actually an anarchist.

Also, as a further point, while you can certainly add another axis to the political spectrum for authoritarianism/democracy, it just so happens that all the state intervention that the lefty economic doctrine requires also requires a push towards authoritarianism. Thus, the most repressive regimes are also lefty ones: USSR, Nazi Germany, North Korea, Cuba, China, ...

On the other hand, it makes no sense to have an ideology based on free markets, individual liberty and individual responsibility which also takes away democratic rights.

It seems when you have nothing convincing to say, you just ramble on with an incoherent "stream of consciousness" rant, mixed up with semi-random quotes from opposing posts. While it probably makes sense to you as you are writing it, it comes off as unpersuasive. Perhaps you should proof read your own posts in future.

The prime issue here, is about how Obama is on a high speed power grab, before his popularity tanks so far that the majority of his own party turns on him (which is only a matter of time now).

The secondary issue is about slanderous misquotation. Not just a typo, but a total and malicious fabrication of a quotation.

Racism is just a cover, and a calculated one at that. Leave it to a liberal to abuse the race card in order to try to distract from a very effective political cartoon message.
