Stephen Taylor! Hacktacular!

And trying desperately to avoid whapping the low-hanging fruit at the Blogging Tories, let's check in on co-founder Stephen Taylor, who takes his "But ... but ... but the Liberals!" shtick to new and nauseating extremes:

Ah yes, who was the minister responsible for CSIS at the time of Omar Khadr’s interrogation? Khadr was interrogated and filmed by CSIS during February 2003. Wayne Easter was solicitor general of the Liberal government at the time.

Good point, Steve, since the expected reaction to Khadr's arrest and imprisonment back in 2003 is exactly what it should be these days, if you ignore the fact that 2003 was not that long after the alleged act when emotions were still a wee bit raw and maybe folks weren't thinking as clearly as they could have been, and that CSIS has demonstrated a nasty habit of not filling people on what they're doing all the time so who knows what Easter had been told, and that, at the time, everyone was accusing Khadr of having killed a "medic" when, it turns out, that was a completely crap accusation, and that the long-believed claim that he was the only terrorist fighter in the area and therefore must have been the killer is also complete crap, and that, oh, right, Khadr was 15 at the time and is therefore, under international law to which Canada is a signatory, a child soldier.

But other than that, Stephen, yeah, those two situations are exactly the same.

Besides, how exactly does it matter who was solicitor-general back then? Does that mean today's government can't do the right thing now?

Jeezus fuck, the parisan bullshit is irritating.

The Liberals failed young Mr Khadr, yes they did. They should have demanded that he be remanded into Canadian custody at the time of his "detainment" by the sinister maniacs of the Bush League. And as Stimpson rightly notes, there is absolutely no fucking excuse that six entire years later, the government of Canada adamantly refuses to do its duty under the rule of law. That amounts to the morons of the right insisting that since the evil Liberals pulled the Adscam, that they should be able to line their own pockets too. Canada's Cons... two wrongs make a right if you look at it from the right, right?

Poor Stephen. His readership seems to have dwindled to "Liz J." the perpetual fixture who squats there and at the The Shotgun, where she shrieks and shrieks and shrieks...

I would like to know where you get your information...You state that all the allegations against Khadr are CRAP..Could you please prove that point?..The most damning thing I heard about this thug is that he admitted to an F.B.I. agent that he did indeed throw that grenade and that he was proud of his actions!Blame it all on Harper you bunch of hypocrites!Blame it on IRWIN COTTLER ,WAYNE EASTER and the rest of the Liberal hacks.Cry crocodile tears for the little puke KHADR..You know what, you self righteous smug little ass, Khadr isn't going ANYWHERE.. and there isn't much that you whiners can do about it....

Please don't insult my intelligence...You liberals are all oblivious to the facts of Khadr's case..This child terrorist (not child soldier) comes from a well-known Al-Queda family.you know, father killed in a terrorist raid.brother paralyzed in same firefight, another brother awaiting extradition to the U.S. need I go on? Any guilt or innocence will be decided in a American court and I will abide by their decision... Personal insults aside try actually sticking to the facts and leave your bloggers' mentality behind....

Once Cheney's through with Flipper, he/she will also admit to having thrown that grenade...
