Welcome to your readership, Raphael.

Giving credit where credit is due, Blogging Tory "Raphael Alexander" (whose real name is Richard Bachman) writes a kick-ass post, only to learn that he's already collected the prerequisite ignorant Blogging Tory commenters:

... I don’t want him back, but he is a citizen of Canada, and if they don’t like that, then revoke his citizenship. There must be rules about that in the Charter.

It leads me to assume that they know something “super-secret” about him, that I’m not privy to.

I don’t believe any “pick a name”/Canadian should be helped if they go back to “their country” and get in a bind while in “their country” . Just revoke Canadian citizenship and wish them luck...

Yea, And CSIS just pulled this guys name out of a hat and said “let’s jerk this guys around just for fun ” Then because of The Shadow of a Doubt thing they have to drop the case.

Why the heck is the judiciary telling the government how to run foreighn policy?...

I heard that they are still being held up by CSIS and that information about him cannot be divulged for security reasons.

Moebius, You were born Canadian. I am talking about ” (slash) / Canadians” of convenience like Papa Kadar. Mahar Arar. Lebanese Canadians that cost us millions to temporally repatriate.

... I am sick and tired of (slash)/Canadians who think that because they have Canadian passports we are automatically their get-out-of-jail card. If he’s really a Canadian as opposed to the slash/kind, why did he go back to the Sudan in the first place?

It's a shame, isn't it, Raph? Even when you try to do the right thing, you're never going to escape your BT past and the coterie of stupid, uneducated racists that automatically come with it.

That has to suck.

AFTERSNARK: It's hugely entertaining that someone with the handle "cynical joe" is such a spectacularly gullible ultramaroon as to have written the following:

The fact is that the Canadian public doesn’t know of any evidence, thats not the same as there not being any.

Similarly, I don't know of any evidence that "cynical joe" patronizes and murders transsexual prostitutes but, hey, you just never know, right, joe? Is that the thought process you want to go with here, joe? Are you sure?

I think, just to be sure, they'd better revoke Cynical Joe's citizenship. I'm sure there must be something in the Charter about that.

Hell no, I'm not going to go read the Charter and find out; that thing is long. I'm sure the National Post would tell us if there were anything important in there.

The most frustrating thing about arguing with wankers is their mind-numbing ignorance. About everything.

These are people who will pontificate about Abousfian Abdelrazik without ever having read the recent legal decision or even having read Canada's Charter, or who will hold forth on the merits of "Intelligent Design" while knowing not the first thing about biological evolution, or ... well, you get the idea.

The ignorance is appalling. Worse, it seems to be a matter of pride. That's what makes it really annoying.

Is Ruffles' name really Richard Bachman or is he just using Stephen King's old nom de plume. And if he is Richard Bachman, how is he related to Michelle Bachman. So many questions...

Copy that. There is nothing more toxic than a mixture of smugness and stupidity.

I think we should torture "cynical joe" to find out if he does murder his transexual prostitutes.

And if he does, we should just revoke his citizenship and ship him to Obama's hell-hole at Bagram Airbase

Canada really isn't the country we all thought it was.

His name isn't really Richard Bachman, its Cordwainer Bird or Kilgore Trout or something like that. But its still spelled R-A-C-I-S-T, D-O-U-C-H-E-B-A-G.
It funny, he started out on the right side of this, demanding that Abdelrazik be brought home, but he's managed to bury that position and return to full douchbag status.
Maybe the National Post threatened to stop running his drivel.
