Apparently, we're going to court.

Over at Wendy's, "NAMBLA" Dick has announced that he's filing a statement of claim against me. I haven't seen anything, and I have no idea what it's about but, given his history, I have to believe he really is stupid enough to think he has a case.

So I'll be shameless -- it's now the CC Legal Defense and Single-Malt Scotch PayPal Fund. If we go to court, the lawyers get it. If we don't, the LCBO gets it. No, you can't have it back, but I'll think of you as I'm opening the bottle. Either way, I like to think of it as a good cause. I always blog better with a glass of 15-year-old Macallan beside me.

P.S. If there's enough loot, I might go after a few other people. I'd start with Wendy Sullivan. She has it coming.

OH, LOOK ... AN ACTUAL THOUGHT: After her howling defamation of yesterday, Wendy "Right Girl" Sullivan suddenly realizes that she is in a very, very bad place, and starts to walk it back:

Given the original libel, someone with a legal background can opine whether that constitutes a sufficiently sincere and public mea culpa. Personally, it looks kinda lame.

In any event, I think Wendy's going to be asking for separate lawyers. That's probably wise.

Yeah, I'd start with her. The libels she's accommodated came after your outing.

I wish I were a lawyer; I'd do it pro bono for you.

By the way, kids, I really am trying to geek out these days so feel free to collect the more interesting screenshots. Again, I'd start with Wendy. She has it coming.

And I'd spend some time over at Twatsy's as well. Anything Dick-related is almost guaranteed to contain at least one lie.

Better stock up on your single malt now, it'll be trickier soon. Me, I've got some bottle-your-own wine gonna be ready at the beginning of July and about three or four weeks worth of bottles stashed away right now, so I'm good for a while.

Speaking as someone who graduated from law in 2003 and gave it up in 2004 because I'm an actual human being with feelings, I can tell you that NAMBLA Dick is probably going to try for a libel suit.

If he has the balls to try.

Simply provide copies of NAMBLA Dick's faux webpage and information as to who it belongs to, and what it was doing.

If you wanted to, you could turn this back on him with a Counter-Claim and end up owning his trailer quite easily, I should think.

I doubt I'd want Dick's trailer, but I'd probably for custody of his kids, just so I could give them away to sane parents somewhere. It would be for their own good. But you knew that.

CC, can you set up a P.O. Box for those of us who refuse to deal with PayPal? I'd gladly pop a money order in the mail. (After the SomethingAwful "Katrina Fund" fiasco, I've been of the opinion that PayPal can go suck a filthy dick.)

Even though I don't touch alcohol, I fully understand the need for a nice, stiff drink after seeing what you've been putting up with for so long.

So far, PayPal seems to be behaving nicely, but in terms of a mailing address, my home address really isn't any secret anymore -- it's been splashed all over the Dumbass-o-sphere.

But if a P.O. box makes sense, I can set that up first thing next week. Whatever works for you, but PayPal has been behaving thus far.

It's amazing how these free-speech warriors are so quick to hide behind their blogs and disallow comments that expose the truth.

There is something wrong with Richard - I hope that when he runs election in 2010, that a few will google his name and come across what a despicable human being he is.

Oh, dear God.

Richard Evans is not going to launch an action.

Werner Patels is not going to launch an action.

Patrick Ross is not going to launch an action.

This particular step in the ritual bloggers' Pavane of Aggression gets more absurd with every new round of empty threats.

I guess you have a point about your address being not so secret. Heh.

Okie dokie then, one money order for the "CC Legal Defense and Single-Malt Scotch Fund" coming up. expect it at th end of next week, after my payday.

Pavane of Aggression? LIBEL! Prepare to be served...

Nice that Wendy can't even manage a half-hearted retraction without insulting some demographic group. A real class act.

CC said...

Um ... Dharma? You do need to make it out to me in real life. You knew that, right?

CC said...

Uh ... you did notice that, even though Wendy "apologized," all the original defamation is still there, right? She's not really the smartest dominatrix in the cargo van, is she?

Dharma Satya said...

Yes, CC. I'm aware. I'm not a complete idiot, despite the fact that I sometimes play on on the internet.

Dharma Satya said...

..and I was trying to be snarky there, not insulting... and I, in no way, at any time, believe you think I'm an idiot... I think... maybe...

She's quite possibly the meanest though, which is probably why she isn't in that line of work anymore. Dominatrices are not generally into ritual humiliation of anyone other than their clients and it's usually not in the form of psychological torture.

...as far as I know. I find the whole premise laughable.

Anyway, off to send that post to Michael Coren. La dee da...

I usually pay no attention to Sullivan.

There was, however, that Canadian Agnels/Canadian Embassy episode.

"I cannot recall where it is" doesn't seem to substitute for tangible evidence re:exhibit A?
