Well, it could have happened that way.

Stick a fork in his presidential aspirations -- he's done. And if I were you, Jonathan, I'd find a new role model. I hear Rush Limbaugh's available.

FOR THE HARD OF THINKING
, the new spin is that Jindal is only claiming that he was enraged about the boat fiasco some days after the fact. But that clearly doesn't square with his exact words during his recent TV address:

During Katrina, I visited Sheriff Harry Lee, a Democrat and a good friend of mine. When I walked into his makeshift office I'd never seen him so angry. He was yelling into the phone: 'Well, I'm the Sheriff and if you don't like it you can come and arrest me!' I asked him: 'Sheriff, what's got you so mad?' He told me that he had put out a call for volunteers to come with their boats to rescue people who were trapped on their rooftops by the floodwaters. The boats were all lined up ready to go - when some bureaucrat showed up and told them they couldn't go out on the water unless they had proof of insurance and registration. I told him, 'Sheriff, that's ridiculous.' And before I knew it, he was yelling into the phone: 'Congressman Jindal is here, and he says you can come and arrest him too!' Harry just told the boaters to ignore the bureaucrats and start rescuing people.

Read that last sentence again:

Harry just told the boaters to ignore the bureaucrats and start rescuing people.

One more time, paying careful attention to ...

... start rescuing people.

That's normally what we non-retards refer to as, you know, happening in the future. So no matter how Jindal and his flunkies try to rewrite history, there is absolutely no question that Jindal made the claim that he was on the ground, as it was happening, in the sheriff's office, yapping about the boat bureaucracy.

Of such dishonesty is right-wing spin constructed. And, sadly, believed. But only by very stupid people.

Not so fast, CC.

Who got reelected after telling people Sadam Hussein had nukes? Which, in a technical manner of speaking, was not a hundred percent true?

What makes you think the GOP is going to hold Brother Bobby to a Higher Standard?

WV riessio, which I take to be a French word for "silly."
