One of these things is not like the others.

Barack Obama's science advisor:

John P. Holdren, who served as AAAS president and chair of the Board in 2006 and 2007, was tapped to serve as Assistant to the President for Science and Technology and Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. In that capacity, he also will co-chair the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST), Obama announced during a 20 December radio address...

Holdren is the Teresa and John Heinz Professor of Environmental Policy and Director of the Program on Science, Technology, and Public Policy at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He also holds the positions of President and Director of the Woods Hole Research Center.

Barack Obama's Energy Secretary:

President-elect Barack Obama has chosen Steven Chu, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist who heads the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, to be the next energy secretary, ... Chu, the son of Chinese immigrants, won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1997 for his work in the "development of methods to cool and trap atoms with laser light."

And Canada's Minister of Science and Technology? A chiropractor. With anger management issues.

As a Canadian, I am so proud.

Mr. Goodyear said, ‘That's because you're lying to them, misleading them.'

He should have added, "Which pisses me off because we're the only ones allowed to lie in this building.'

What an ultra-maroon.

wv='sobses' Which is pretty much what I'm doing at tis moment.

Goodyear is running on the old CPC playbook,... the only question is whether the Canadian Public will notice or even care.

wv = moldemo

sounds about right for Goodyear

I swear I didn't plagiarize you on this.

I had the temerity to mention, on another blog, this past weekend, that Ann Coulter was right when she opined that Canadians are either really, really good or really, really bad.

In response, a regular commenter on this blog commented on that blog that he had thought that Canadians uniformly are criticized as unduly bland, or words to that effect, and that we critics ought to settle on a unified theory of Canadians, or words to that effect.

For my side, I offer Steverino, Gary Goodyear and the BT crowd as examples, as well as Iggy. Of course I think Lulu, psa, and, and, CC are Most Excellent examples too.

Having said that, I will do my best to reach a consensus with the other critics of Canadians on whether Canadians are really really good, really really bad, or just bland.

I think we're more lazy than anything. What other country would have put up with that proroguing of Parliament nonsense?
