We mock them because they're dumbfucks, that's why.

Over at Blogging Tory "Ranting Owl," commenter "Anonymous" is being a bit of an ignorant dumbfuck:

Omar Khadr is said to be "Innocent" because nobody actually saw him kill a medic even though he was the only person alive after a fire fight with NATO forces in Afghanistan at a Al-Qaeda compound.

And then there's reality, which has an anti-dumbfuck bias:

Lawyer: Khadr report altered

GUANTANAMO, Cuba–A U.S. military commander altered a report on a firefight in Afghanistan to cast blame for the death of a Delta Force commando on a Canadian youth who was captured after the shooting stopped, a defence lawyer said today...

The military commander’s official report the day after the raid originally said the assailant who threw the grenade was killed, which would rule out Khadr as the suspect.

The report was revised months later, under the same date, to say a U.S. fighter had only “engaged” the assailant, according to Kuebler, who said the later version was presented to him by prosecutors as an “updated” document.

Kuebler told reporters after the hearing that it appears “the government manufactured evidence to make it look like Omar was guilty.”

And this is why we mock them -- because they're ignorant dumbfucks. Did I mention being dumbfucks? Yeah, I'm sure I did.

Using the logic that is being applied in the Khadr case, anyone who pulls a trigger in a war zone is automatically guilty of a crime.

Don't tell the IDF! Although I suspect they wouldn't care.

The heart of the Khadr case isn't his guilt or innocence. It's whether or not we're going to reserve the right to patch him up, torture him, and lock him up without trial for a quarter of his life.

Or rather, whether we're going to let someone else do it in our names.
