Yeah, I can handle that one over here.

Apparently, the U.S. is inordinately curious:

Dear U.S.: Stephen is a raging, deranged, self-absorbed, pathologically dishonest narcissist with delusions of grandeur and a really, really disturbing Napoleon complex, thanks for asking.

Sorry ... wasn't that the question?

They speculate that the US might "send a cable" to Canada to find out what's happening? My gosh, why not a Pony Express letter or a parchment inquiry by steamship?

Sheesh, anyone with a spare hour and net access can know more than they ever wanted about this "crisis".

It's normal parliamentary procedure, even though we haven't dabbled with it before. Business as usual, nothing to see here, move along.

Though I think, once tried and proven, it will become a usual, not an unusual, option.

I see what Harper is hoping. He's hoping to become Canada's Kharzai. If the States gets frightened enough by 'instability on its border' they'll 'stabilize' Canada.

With Harper, of course, regretfully accepting the role as leader until stability and normalcy are restored.

I imagine he's got his gauche uniform with the pretty, meaningless medals all picked out.

As someone pointed out yesterday in another publication, Cannon went on to say he was hoping to meet with SOS Hillary Clinton next Wednesday -- who is not actually confirmed in her position, or officially anything yet and how meeting with foreign politicians over situations in their country on Condaleeza's watch might be a bit problematic.
