Hmmmm... I'm a little conflicted reading that. War is hell and it harms even the survivors irreperably. In that Ware's tale is hardly unique or any more illuminating than those of others.Here's the problem, though...As uncomfortable as he is with the idea of his leaving Iraq, if Ware were setting policy, American forces would be in Iraq for a very, very long time.While, yes I agree with the sentence following that quote -- that Iraq will be a sectarian bloodbath, and I think any of us with half a brain knew that would be the end result of any invasion -- how could fucking up the minds and lives of thousands more of America's youth in the way that Ware is fucked up be considered in any way imaginable serve good or useful purpose? And let's be honest here, Ware is one fucked up dude. The comments following the article are also worth a read.
