Are you fucking kidding me?

Shorter Alec MacGillis of the Washington Post: ZOMG!11!1!!!!1!11! Obama’s appointing, like, way too many totally smart people to his cabinet. Srsly, kai?

And furthermore ... MacGillis may actually have a point. I'm sure the last thing anyone wants after 8 years of President Fratboy McFuckup is a bunch of intelligent, well-read, innovative grown-ups trying to fix things.

No, really.

That's amazing, although perhaps not too surprising. Imagine... all those really smart, well-qualified people who graduated from Ivy League schools! The horror, the horror!

I mean couldn't they find some folks that dropped out of high school or who barely scraped through community college? What's Joe the Plumber up to these days?

Oh, no! The stupid people are feeling threatened! What will happen to them, when they are surrounded by SMART people? Unemployment bitches!

I wouldn't have believed this if I hadn't read the article. I'm speechless.

"The Ivy-laced network taking hold in Washington is drawing scorn from many conservatives, who have in recent decades decried the leftward drift of academia and cast themselves as defenders of regular Americans against highbrow snobbery."

Um ... right.

Let's give Alec his due. Stephen Harper graduated from the University of Calgary & Stockwell Day graduated from Northwest Bible College. Need I say more?
