Theatre in the Wild

For those of you fortunate enough to reside in the Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph, Cambridge area, Unhinged launches its premiere season this Thursday evening, September 18. Unhinged is a festival of site specific theatre, meaning that the plays and performances take place in non-theatre settings. For instance, "Quantum Entanglement" is performed at the Art Bar in Kitchener's Centre in the Square, while "Copy Protection" is performed in the changing room for the skating rink at Kitchener's City Hall. There are six strikingly different plays, in six unique settings. Drawing on the superb talent that this region fosters, there's something here for every taste, from the joyous celebration of family offered as a stellar one woman show by Stratford Festival performer Ashley Burton in "Nonna's Party" to the adult only mayhem of "Copy Protection". I encourage you to take in one or more of the performances and discover untamed art in the urban jungle.
