Dear Blogging Tories:

How's that responsible, transparent and accountable fiscal conservatism working out for you and the rest of the slavishly obedient Harper-bots? Uh oh ... not so well, I see.

Sorry, Ardvark, what was that you were pissing and mewling about again? Oh, right. Yeah, I'll bet Ardvark is wanting that one back right about now.

P.S. I particularly like this part of the article:

The Conservative party is pointing out, however, that none of the spending was new.

A spokesman says the announcements that took place during the time period cited by the federation were based on the 2008 budget and approved by Parliament.

He cited an $80-million repayable loan to Ford announced Sept. 3, which aims to create 757 jobs in Windsor, Ont., noting the money came out of the existing $250-million Auto Innovation Fund.

He said a $27-million repayable loan to Heroux Devtek in Longueuil, Que., for research and development came out of the Strategic Aerospace and Defence Initiative, was created last year.

"This is not new spending over and above the funds approved by Parliament in Budget 2008," the spokesman said.

In other words, "Here's a fucking shitload of money to buy your votes. But if you think we're being grossly irresponsible in tossing all this cash around, it's only because those promises don't mean anything and we're really trying to buy your votes with money we've already given you. And that makes it all right."

Just when you think you've reached the bottom of the CPoC sleaze barrel, someone comes along and lifts up the barrel.
