The unintentional irony, dr. roy-style.

The Blogging Tories' dr. roy fakes as much compassion as he can muster:

A tragedy in Vermont

As someone who lives very near Vermont, I was horrified by the murder of 12 year old Brooke Bennett. So is Brent Bozell.

Here’s a thought for all you couples or single parents baptized in stupidity who have young kids under your immediate care: How about not allowing your kid to hang out with a relative if said kin has been to prison for rape, child molestation, or kiddie porn, huh? It’s just a thought. Are you familiar with thinking?

Listen to me, moms and dads everywhere, if anything with a penis is involved in a sex ring, has been convicted of a sexual crime, or gives you that weird uncle NAMBLA vibe you might not want to invite them over for some KFC with the kids.

Now, I know what you're thinking -- where's CC going with this? Is he going to use that as a springboard to suggest that, in a similar vein, priests who've been convicted of child abuse don't deserve the Order of Canada? Or maybe he's going to take the low road and make a Dick Evans NAMBLA reference.

To be honest, I'm not sure myself, so I'll give it some thought and let you know.

To be fair, he does have a point about leaving your kids with that Creepy Uncle. It's probably a bad idea.

Yes, it's a bad idea. Just as it's probably a bad idea to leave young boys alone with Catholic priests and yet, curiously enough, these same wankers never seem concerned enough to warn anyone about that.

Some fairly selective outrage going on there, wouldn't you say?

Man, you should check out the Townhall discussion. The good moral Christians are imagining every torture and act of violence known to man...to be meted out not just to the perpetrator, but to the entire state of Vermont.

Iraqi children blown apart with cluster-bombs or watching their parents blown apart by cluster-bombs?

Fuck 'em (figuratively).

I think you've got Eappen wrong here. He's not faking "compassion" at all. He's recruiting everyone's favourite angry media troll Bozell to express his rage. It's just that Eappen is too inarticulate and/or gutless to put that emotion into his own words.

I should add that when I say "gutless" I mean that figuratively. He is, as we know, a grotesquely corpulent man.

One of my uncles is a Catholic priest. I wouldn't hesitate to leave my kids with him. He's a great guy.

One of my other uncles is a teacher. I wouldn't leave my kids with him for anything in the world.

And really, I'm failing to see your point on this one. Damn right someone shouldn't leave their kids with someone who is likely to assault them. And you agree with this, so I don't get it.

But I am writing before coffee...

Fucking Catholics keep on dictating how they have higher moral standards that we should follow... Yet seem to have a higher proportion of child molesters, torturers and general abusers...
It's called hypocrisy shannon...

Ahh. I wasn't getting that the original post was from a self-righteous Catholic. *Now* I get it.

Thanks for pouring on the condescension though, cherniak. Much appreciated.
