Dear Cons: Why you sound like hypocritical assholes.

Dear Conservative Party of Canada:

Let me explain, if I might, why you perpetually sound like hypocritical assholes. It's because of this:

In an exchange in question period yesterday, Conservative MP Deepak Obhrai blamed the Liberals for his government's hands-off approach to the Khadr case.

"Mr. Khadr has been in jail since 2002 when (the Liberal) party was in power, and that is the policy that we are following which was brought forward by that party," Obhrai said.

He said the Liberals should ask their own leader, who was in cabinet at the time, "why they did not raise those questions at that time." ...

"The fact of the matter is that for 13 dark years that party was in power," Obhrai, who is the parliamentary secretary to the foreign affairs minister, continued. "Certainly they cannot rise up and say `Now let's forget the 13 years of darkness and let's move forward.'"

In other words, "But ... but ... but ... the Liberals!" And the hypocritical assholitude therein? It's really quite simple:

You can't have it both ways.

Let me explain this so that even really, really stupid people can understand it.

You cannot, on the one hand, criticize the former party for their behaviour but, when you are accused of the same behaviour, try to dismiss it because the former party did it, too. Do you see the inherent assholitude?

If you want to criticize someone else's behaviour, this suggests (nay, implies quite strongly) that that behaviour is unacceptable and deserving of criticism.

On the other hand, when you are accused of precisely the same thing, you immediately want to claim that, since both parties did it, well, then, let's call it a draw and we'll let it drop and let's forget the whole thing, no harm, no foul, know what I mean?

It's time for you to make up your minds. If you criticize someone else for doing it, then you should be honest enough to accept that your doing the same thing is equally unacceptable. If, instead, you prefer to cavalierly dismiss those accusations against you as not worthy of addressing, then you should similarly have the honesty and decency to give others a pass for precisely the same crime.

In short, stop acting like such whiny, petulant fuckwits, and take a consistent position for once. Either suck it up and accept that what you've done is not acceptable behaviour, or stop whining about how others did it first. That's the kind of childish shit we expect out of snivelly eight-year-olds. And, sadly, that's pretty much what we're getting.

Grow the fuck up.

Grow the fuck up? These people can't grow up, because their brains are maxed-out.

"Conservatism" remains the movement of really stupid people. It's sickening, but in a democracy, everyone deserves to be represented.
