So, Sandy ... how's those "accomplishments" coming?

Blogging Tory and uber-partisan Conservative Party hack Sandy Crux continues to flog her laughingly one-sided list of Stephen Harper "accomplishments," but the irony of it gets a bit thicker every day:

The Federal Accountability Act was passed which: (Link)

* Provides protection for whistleblowers;
* Bans political contributions by corporations and unions;
* Reduces personal political donations from $5000 to $1000 per year;
* Strengthens the power for the Auditor General to ‘Follow the Money;’ and
* Added fixed election dates.

Yes, Sandy ... Stephen Harper and "accountability." How exactly does that work again?

OTTAWA - The federal Conservatives have quietly killed a giant information registry that was used by lawyers, academics, journalists and ordinary citizens to hold government accountable.

Oh, and Sandy? Speaking of "strengthening the power of the Auditor General," well:

OTTAWA–Ottawa's financial watchdog says she won't go along with draft government rules that she says would undermine the independence of officers of Parliament like herself.

Auditor-General Sheila Fraser found allies yesterday who condemned the Conservative proposal, which could mean that Parliament's officers must vet their public statements through a wing of the Prime Minister's Office, as an unprecedented attack on the independence of the officers, who are supposed to work at arm's length.

I'm guessing none of that is going to show up in Sandy's vaunted list. Call it a hunch.

Here's some free advice, Sandy: Find a nice hobby for retirement, and leave the political pontification for actual grown-ups. You're just not that good at it.

Awww, come on... you're being too hard on old Sandy. Today she's breaking news that staying in school pays off! You don't run across that groundbreaking sort of cutting-edge journalism every day, you know. After all, it's the "crux of the matter" — where retardation and something or other intersect...

I made an attempt to engage Sandy on her blog concerning C-10 and she is beyond redemption. She was snitting that the people condemning the office of film morality were the very same folks applauding the human rights commissions terrible persecution of conservatives, I responded. I debunked her wafer thin logic in support of the censorship regime, corrected the ridiculous notion that somehow reducing the tax burden on a production would cost taxpayers money and finally had a polite poke at the weak kneed cons.

Well pearls were brought out and mightily clutched. In true censor's form she tossed the entirety of my response and tut-tutted her own response. Evidently my words were too harsh for her or her milksop readership. Yet my comment was tres mild, profanity free, cogent and on point, including the dig at conservatives. Somehow I find it galling that she not only trashes a post but then responds to it. I guess the only way a pathetic bag of gas like Sandy can win an argument is if there's only her side heard. Bah.

PSA:

Seriously, have you ever seen such an insular bunch of pathetic whiners? These are the people who, on the one hand, bitch incessantly about how no one on the "Left" will engage them intellectually, then piss themselves in pure fear the instant anyone offers even the mildest dissension and promptly shut down the conversation.

Examples of this are legion, of course, from other trembling cowards like "Blue Like You"'s JoJo, to sanctimonious racists like Kathy Shaidle who don't allow comments on their blogs in any way.

God only knows how those people can afford their laundry bill, given how often they wet themselves in terror.

I made a list of Steve's "accomplishments" just the other day too.

Oddly the accountability deal? As of Dec 2007, from info I found, whole sections had never been implemented anyway.

The fact that it was a piece of shit to start, but it was only a show piece of shit.

CC/PSA — It’s more than hilarious that “trembling cowards” (to use your expression) like Sandy and JoJo who ruthlessly censor their comments, and toxic gasbags like Kathy Shaidle who don’t even allow them in the first place, have anything whatsoever to say on the subject of “free expression” as none of them evidently have any clue what this means and all fail spectacularly to practice what they preach.

Especially when their standard exhoration is "challenge hate speech with more speech."

And remember everyone...The old Crock sponged off our taxes during the Harris regime as an education consultant and we all know what happened during that period.

Could these people just stop failing already? We all know they're very good at it, so they really don't need to try anymore.
