Accountability and transparency? Never heard of them.

Isn’t this interesting? Looks like Big Daddy and Doris are not quite as accountabilicious as they’d like you to think they are. Via the Globe and Mail:

Internal documents from the Canadian Border Services Agency show it was more concerned about protecting its reputation than providing information about a Polish immigrant who died at Vancouver International Airport, last year.

The documents, obtained by CTV News, show significant co-operation between the airport, RCMP and border services officials in controlling the release of details following the Oct. 14, 2007 death of Robert Dziekanski.

“Hopefully things will be quiet on this until tomorrow AM,” reads one document.

“The material has been cleansed too much,” reads another.

The documents show the federal agency and the Vancouver airport authority worked closely with the RCMP to ensure the three had their media messaging synchronized after an agitated Mr. Dziekanski died.

“Worked closely with the RCMP” ... that sounds like, oh what’s the term I’m looking for? Oh, I know — like they were getting their stories straight. Now why would they need to do that if everything was just fine and nobody did anything wrong and Mr. Dziekanski was dealt with in a perfectly appropriate manner? I don’t really need to answer that, do I?

Canada’s New Government™, boys and girls — still putting the “hip” back in “hypocrisy” after more than two years.

I still think there should be an inquiry into the RCMP's announcement of an investigation into the income trust leak during the last election.

I understand that the previous government might not be innocent in its association with the national police force, but this has become intolerable. The police across this country are not well-served by this.

Theres more....heh. My son sent me an email this morning....Apparently some of the surveillance video from the airport went "missing".
Uh huh.

Several hours of surveillance footage recorded at Vancouver airport the night Polish immigrant Robert Dziekanski was tasered and died were inadvertently erased by the Canada Border Services Agency a week after his death.

Missing...

The RCMP are a bunch of prats - I'm tired of hearing we should not condemn them all because of a few bad apples. As far as I’m concerned, they are a complete waste of tax payer’s money. As for CSIS, the more I read about the Toronto terrorists, the more I think these guys are Mickey Mouse – we should disband the neo-fascism imbeciles as they have too much power and are a threat to civil liberties.

Dziekanski was murdered plain and simple. If not for the video evidence (that they tried to cover up), this would not even be a story.

Wonder how many times this may of happened....

These incompetent boobs are only trying to cover up how stupid and negligent they are.

Fuck them - jail sentences for being stupid would be a good start..
