Innumeracy: It's what's for dinner.

Blogging Tory, non-partisan political pundit, and woman who has trouble with small numbers Sandy Crux reads the news, then butchers it:

Two-thirds believe Harper telling truth

Um ... no, Sandy. Here's how it works, try to keep up (emphasis tail-waggingly added)

Almost a third of Canadians think Harper is lying over Cadman affair: poll

... About 29 per cent said they did not believe that Harper was unaware of the alleged offer and that another 22 per cent have not yet decided whether to believe Harper or the Cadman family, who maintain the offer was made.

In other words (and pay attention here, because numbers will be involved), since a full 51 per cent either think Harper is lying or they still haven't made up their mind, then even the most charitable interpretation allows us to claim only that at most 49 per cent think Harper is telling the truth.

Join us tomorrow at Sandy's place "where education and Canadian politics intersect" when we can watch Sandy grapple with fractions.
