China's Crimes In Tibet

In yet another of the continuing assaults on the Tibetan people, Chinese authorities have met demonstrations with violence. BoingBoing has been covering these protests and the crackdown. Estimates are pegging the death toll at between 70 and 80, with as many as 1,000 arrested. The endless attacks and repression of the Tibetan people is a worldwide shame. Where is the official condemnation of these events from our governments? Why in the fuck am I reading news stories about the happy athletes winning berths in the blood soaked summer Olympics? As a nation that is supposed to promote freedom and deplore wanton violence and the repression of innocents, how can we justify taking part in the games?

Boycott the Beijing Olympics.

I hate to sound cycnical about this but.. well, no I don't.

We boycott theirs, they boycott ours. King Stevie and Little Prince Gordo (ak Premier Drinky McDriver) won't be having any of that.

Fuck, I can't wait for 2010 to be over and done with already.

exactly frank. i am planning on boycotting 2010 as well. the whole scam has become a disgusting debacle and an insult to the original notion of the olympic spirit.
