This time, it's the horrifically stupid Christina Spencer, writing in the Ottawa Sun:
The Canadian government, for instance, says there have been about 100 consular contacts with Brenda Martin since her arrest.
Well, now, isn't that particular wording special? Not to flaunt my own blinding prescience, but let's remember what I wrote back here:
And the claims begin to morph ever so slowly (all emphasis added):
Tuesday, March 18:
"In two years we have had over 100 contacts with Ms. Martin and continue to raise her case up to and including the president of Mexico," Dimitri Soudas told The Canadian Press.
Wednesday, March 19:
Harper, who has dispatched two MPs to meet with the woman, said Canadian officials have had about 100 contacts either with their Mexican counterparts or Martin herself in the past two years.
And, as of today, we have Spencer's newest version. So, to sum up, the chronology of claims goes thusly:
- The Stephen Harper Party of Canada had over 100 contacts with Martin.
- Well, OK, not really, but Canadian officials had about 100 contacts with either Martin or Mexican officials.
- Well, OK, not really, it was the Canadian consulate that had about 100 contacts with Martin.
And, not surprisingly, the media dutifully prints the ever-changing story without ever noticing the metamorphosis. Did you really expect anything different?
JUST ANOTHER WORTHLESS CUNT. And as much as I would have liked to keep this civil, there really is no other way to describe Spencer other than as another in a long line of useless, CPoC apologist, dumb cunts. Try to believe she could write an entire article about Martin and not bother to mention this rather critical bit of data:
The only glimmer of hope was a sworn affidavit by Alyn Waage saying that Brenda had nothing to do with TriWest.
Exactly -- the man who is now serving 10 years for the scam has testified, in a sworn affidavit, that Martin had nothing to do with the scam. How precisely does one write an article about Martin and somehow neglect to mention that? But it doesn't end there.
Useless cunt Spencer dutifully regurgitates the claims of 100 consular contacts, without ever mentioning this bit of contradictory data:
Martin’s Toronto lawyer, Guillermo Cruz Rico, said that a review of the legal file showed that consulate officials were notified of Martin’s incarceration on Feb. 18, 2006, but it was not until Dec. 14, 2007, that a representative made official inquiries to the Mexican court about her legal status.
And this:
Ms. Martin, 51, is a victim of a medieval judicial system, bureaucratic indifference and political lethargy. She has been in jail awaiting trial for two years and two months in Guadalajara -- for the first 18 months without any official contact from anyone at Canada's consulate in the city.
How the fuck do people like Spencer get work as journalists? Seriously.
BONUS DUMBCUNTITUDE AT NO EXTRA CHARGE: If you still haven't had your fill of dumbcuntitude, you won't be able to do any better (or worse) than this. Really, I can't even dissect that swill. Just go read, and marvel at the depths to which a human being can sink.

For shame CC - Aaron's going to be here any minute 'cause you used the "c-word" a bunch of times. That's if he hasn't already succumbed to the vapours.
It’s amusing to see a former “supporter” of Brenda Martin, who up until now had no time for the swarthy Mexicans and had previously warned about the dangers of traveling to that horrid country is now full of praise for its poor judicial system that’s “doing its best” to deal with the case. Now that the government’s hapless and deceitful mishandling of the matter is reflecting poorly on the Dear Leader, she’s got no hesitation whatsoever in throwing Brenda Martin under the bus. Oh, and KKKate told her too! Principles, consistency, moral decency… not from these cunning runts.
An anonymous commenter takes her to task over there:
Absolutely astounding to watch you all turn against this poor woman at the word of Kate McMillan.
I've always felt that the biggest failing of blogs as a source of reliable information has been the sheer ignorance of the bloggers themselves.
Joanne, you demonstrate this in spades. Sanctimonious, self-righteous and stupid. A winning combination.
To actually state that the Mexican justice system is doing the best it can and expect anyone with an ounce of common sense to swallow it is beyond belief.
Mexico is a deeply corrupt country. Martin has never stood trial yet she is in prison with convicted criminals of all types.
You have condemned Mexico as an unsafe place to visit yourself in previous posts. Suddenly, once this conservative govt is criticized, you rush to defend what is undefendable.
Have you ever accepted a legitimate criticism of Harper or his govt? Ever? Have you?
If Liberal MP's hadn't embarassed this govt into acting on the Martin case, nothing would have been done
at all.
You suggest she may be guilty. Harper might be guilty of breaking a law or 2 himself. He gets the benefit of facing his accusers. Why shouldn't Martin?
Pathetic. All of you.
Joanne’s “response”?
Is that you just venting, Anon, or do you want to give yourself a name and we'll discuss it?
Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha! What a cunt ! Why the heck allow Anonymous comments in the first place, if you’re not going to respond to them when critical. Good grief…
Then her resident fart-catcher “Alberta Girl” trundles in bristling with indignation to denounce the Anonymous commenter for daring to criticize JoJo and then dutifully trots out the CPoC apologist line that there must be another side to the story than the one the media and opposition parties are pushing. Brenda Martin must be guilty! And responsible for her own fate too. So there!
Ugh.
I see the lovely MaryT is over there. She also wrote this over KKKate's:
"Note to Brenda; Dr Kovorkian is looking for work.
He can help you."
These people need to be rounded up and interned.
