Dear Saskboy: Screw you.

I am not happy with this association:

An interesting discussion about civility and meaning of the political blogosphere has popped up at Dodos’ site. The American blogosphere tends to take much of the credit for rank hostility and vile flaming, but it’s easy to find here at home in Canada too. From the obvious examples of Small Dead Animals and Canadian Cynic, ...

With all due respect, SB, bite me. If you haven't figured it out yet, there's a universe of difference between me and Ilsa, She-Wolf of Delisle -- I don't lie, and I don't make shit up.

And, yes, that's a difference worth noting. It'd be nice if you remembered that before making any more lame comparisons like that.

P.S. I'm also not a homophobic racist that makes fun of millions of dead Jews either. That, too. And no, we're not done here. Not by a long shot.

And did I say that you lied, or make things up? I was referring to your comparable popularity with your respective readerships, as well as being well known foes in the Canadian blogosphere.
I could have tossed out Kinsella and Kate/Ezra/[insert Blogging-Tory here] instead, but thought you'd appreciate the mention. Good to know you don't hold a grudge about anything, or jump to conclusions too easily.

(Capcha was ievlmk - I evil, mmm k?)

I'm sorry - how are we the "obvious examples" along with KKKate's House of Holocaust Hilarity? Nice blanket comparison ... really. I suppose we should just shut up and be glad you didn't compare us to Stormfront.

Ha. I read that this morning and figured you folks would find that comparison particularly irksome.

I don't find it irksome. Saskboy's analysis of these types of things never goes deeper than a puddle.

Some issues, for a lot of people, don't merit thoughtful, considered, INTERMINABLE discussion. Genocide, torture, bigotry, bold-face lying, smear-mongering, etc., especially among people from whom you get the sense never actually read anything about these things (or about much else) and who seem to believe debate as they call it, founded on a complete absence of information, is a sophisticated intellectual exercise. That might be fine for 14 year olds, but after age 20 or so, it really is just solipsism (a concept a lot people don't seem to understand, I've come to realise; res ipse loquitur).

Sometimes, it really is refreshing and cleansing to simply tell an egregious, hideous specimen of a human being to fuck. right. off. and call it a day. We're not given the opportunity to do that much in this culture, or we have to spend a hell of lot of energy finding a million different ways to do essentially that.

Irksome for all the reasons noted above. Thanks for elaborating... ;)

Um..what does "gender opposites" mean?

Saskboy said...

Gender rights opposites would have been more descriptive, sorry if that confused you, I wasn't clear.

Nice try CC. Saskboy calls you out on your incivility and outright hostility [the point of his post], and you respond on admirably ironic fashion: "I am civil you f&*ing retard!"

Nice one, CC. You are the class of the left side, I must admit.

And I like Saskboy. He has a lot of potential in him to move to the dark side of the force... I mean the light side. The light side.

LuLu said...

And that’s a fair point, because as vile as CC is in prose, his heart and head is usually in the right place.

Saskboy
appears to have perfected the art of "damning with faint praise". Don't you feel better now, CC? You're a shameless pottymouth but you mean well.

I doubt that, Raphael. He has a sense of humour. That's a real impediment when it comes to Conservatism.

Nice try RA, but Saskboy made the common mistake of comparing apples to oranges and equating them on the basis of some imagined standard of “civility” that bloggers should ideally be abiding by. Yes, CC might be a foul-mouthed, son-of-a-bitch (or to put it more politely, a profane apostate), but that’s in no way comparable to the deeply vile, thoroughly hateful sentiments that are routinely expressed over at SDA by Kate and her legion of extremist devotees.

Thanks for that chuckle ti-guy!

Raphael, you're often distancing yourself from your fellow members of the BT blogroll -- just yesterday you were pointing out that there was dissent among them, so don't tar everyone with the same brush. But here you are equating CC's incivility with the bald hatred on display at SDA.

If you want to call CC and the regulars around here uncivil, I can't argue with that. But the "incivility" at SDA is of an entirely different character -- it's not just a matter of degree.

Or do you really equate the things that CC says about, say, creationists with what Kate and her hordes say about Muslims and aboriginal Canadians? Is it really just one and the same to you?

If so, I suggest a trip to the optometrist is in order.

saskboy is missing the distinction between our incivility and kate being uncivilized. we say swear words, kate utters curses.

Yes, I'd take foul-mouthed over mean-spirited and disingenuous any day.

You first, you corpulent, mullet-sporting fucktard.

Should I get you a rag so you can wipe all that spittle off your keyboard?

Maybe your meds while I'm at it?

LuLu said...

Patrick, this crush you have on all of us here at CC Central is getting out of hand. I don't want to hurt your feelings but we're just not that into you. Seriously.

Patrick Ross said...

Sounds great. That just saves me the trouble of eventually having to scrub myself all over with bleach.
