Oh, pshaw.

Who you gonna believe -- the experts, or one of the stupidest human beings on the planet?

That's not supposed to be a tough decision, you know.

Doesn’t Lemon frantically bashing away on his little tin pot about “liberal media bias” get more than a little tiresome after a while?

Financial markets imploding - check
Unemployment rising - check
Manufacturing sector going offshore - check
Inflation rising - check
More people without medical benefits - check

Sounds like just another Bush success story.

(You may want to keep a screen capture of Mr. Lemon's prognostications -- in six months they will come back to haunt him.)

Only a completely dense asswipe could miss the writing on the wall. Excepting some miracle, the economy is headed for recession and the "soft landing" forecast by Bush will be more like a brutal faceplant for a good number of people who are currently overleveraged and/or unable to divest themselves of short and medium-term investments that will soon be turning to absolute shit.

Well, this shows the entire mindset right there--
"Now WHY exactly should anyone give a fiddler's fig about what the general population thinks about the economic condition of America"
Why would we listen to 70 percent of the population on this when I have this 'expert' over here saying it just ain't so?
Lots of people say there's torture at Gitmo?? I heard it from Cheney that says that ain't so!
Lots of people say there's no WoMD?? My hero GWB says there are!!! So there!!!!
Lots of people say that Iraq was a bad idea??? Rummy said it was the right thing to do--what do those others know!!
Yeah, 'cause the 70 percent are always wrong in Lemon world.

I left out another important fact:
Got rid of surplus - check
Turned the world against USA - check

But things are goooood. Just last week W said the economy was in 'great shape' -- this week -- not so good.

BTW WTF is a 'fiddlers fig'?

I must say that it’s somewhat interesting that Lemon blows off popular opinion with such contempt whenever it doesn’t accord with his desired view of things. This seems to be quite a common sentiment amongst the BT wingnuts. To them people who don’t subscribe to their particular mindset are merely “lemmings” and their opinions are completely worthless and deserving of nothing but scorn. This tiny minority of extremist crackpots wants to lord it over the rest of us all the while regarding the public as unenlightened idiots because the don’t follow the Dailies from Bureau of Economic Analysis. And they have the brazen temerity to call “liberals” elitists!

Well, that's just the old "creating reality" thing. It's fundamental with conservatives. The last thing a lot of them want is for the public to lose faith in the various confidence games and ponzi schemes they've got going.

I'm really under-whelmed at how Bush and Bernanke are returning at light speed to Keynesian economics with huge bail-outs. Did anyone ever doubt they'd end up doing it?

Where is the “conservative” outrage at this ineffectual (yet highly expensive) meddling in the economy? Let’s see some of that rigorous adherence to free market principles they’re always prattling on about. I note that the write down of assets by the banks and investment companies is coming not long after they all handed their executives and senior management very hefty Christmas and year-end bonuses… And now they’re crying about how hard done to they are and looking for welfare from the government.

Just announced: $150 billion in "tax relief" to boost the economy. Hmmm. Where's that going to come from?
