Oh, the hilarity I've seen.

Blogging Tory "shlemazl" takes a stab at cultural punditry, with unsurprisingly disastrous results:

In my experience anti-Semitism isn't widely spread in the west, except among Muslims.

Meanwhile, back in what we call the real world ...

Degree of difficulty: -1,000,000.

Oh man, where'd you find that clueless putz? Oy.

Meanwhile over at Joanne's place she's sounding the alarm that if we ever pull out of Afghanistan "the danger will follow us home." Panic stations! Oh, and dr. roy wonders "Did dion and iggy even see a single Canadian troop?" What a fucking cretin.

Argh. Too early in the day for such fathomless levels of monstrous stupidity.

It wasn't hard -- I started Firefox, typed in "bloggingtories.ca" ... you can work out the rest by yourself.

Oh, is he a BT? I didn't notice when I was over there. Figures. Utterly clueless.

That dude has been haunting the Blahg for years accusing everyone and their cat of anti-semitism...

a single troop? Does he mean individual soldier, or does he mean group of soldiers? Isn't a member of a troop, a trooper?

Yeah, he showed up at the same time as the Bacon Eating Atheist Jew, who called us all "cockroaches" for opposing the severity of the Isreal's attacks on Lebanon in the summer of 2006.

Nice of you to play "Who's a Jew" with him, Red. That's always fun.

*I'm* probably more of a Jew than schlemiel is, since I actually believe in the God of Abraham.

It's my understanding that anti-semitism means discrimination against semitic peoples - which includes Arabs. It therefore seems somewhat strange to refer to Arabs as anti-semitic.

Ti-Guy — I guess I could mine through his archives to try and figure out what this guy is all about, but I really couldn't be bothered. His assertion seems trĂ©s flimsy to me and as I said over there, needlessly provocative and inflammatory in addition to being quite baseless in our cultural context. As for the "Who's a Jew" thing, I couldn't resist the temptation even though it's not a place I usually like to go.

Interesting footnote: He backs up his assertion by citing a radical socialist and Trotskyite... go figure. And claims to be a "Blogging Tory" but also says he isn't writing for the benefit of a Canadian audience.

BTs = Incoherency iz us !!!

Please tell me you're not forgetting your friend and mine, actor, director and Jew-Hater Mel Columcille "Are you a fucking jew?" Gerard Gibson.

Surely he hasn't been forgiven for that and for foisting snuff-films like Passion of the Christ, Signs and Apocalypto in effort to convince the rest of us that his and only his version of Christianity is correct.

Hey, he's got his own personal experience(s) backed up with a video of some obscure, insufferably pompous Trotskyite rambling on about the dreary miseries and travails of Canadian Jewry. Sheesh! Don't let mountains of contradictory evidence get in the way of that!

@Obscure? Trotskyite?

He could have you for libel, except that when it comes from someone like you negative statements actually boost one's reputation.

Irving Abella, a renown history professor, top Canadian authority on the history of anti-Semitism, a former Canadian Jewish Congress president, Member of the Order of Canada, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada whose wife is on the Canadian Supreme Court somehow becomes an "obscure radical socialist and Trotskyite" according to you.

Abella does have lots of publications on the history of socialism, but that does not make him a socialist.

The video came from Yale - I had thought you were interested in an authoritative view on the subject.

@e in mind:

Sure, there are lots of Nazi (e.g.Zundel), religious/fundamentalist (e.g.Mel) and idiotic left anti-Semites (e.g.Ti-Guy). You see them mostly on the web; sometimes in mass media.

However I personally have not come across non-Muslim western anti-Semites in real life. Also, there are no major confessional organizations in the west contaminated by anti-Semitism like some Muslim organizations such as MPAC.
