There's simply too much NAMBLA-powered, wingnuttery goodness over at "Dick Evans' Big 'n' Tall White Sheet Emporium" this morning to get back to work, so let's amuse ourselves a bit longer, shall we? Dick desperately wants to us to know about this:
WASHINGTON - A former aide to Sen. Maria Cantwell is in federal custody after being arrested on a charge of attempting to sexually exploit a minor.James Michael McHaney was fired Friday from his job as a scheduler for Cantwell, D-Wash., hours after he was arrested by FBI agents. The FBI said in a charging document that McHaney allegedly tried to set up a meeting with an undercover witness posing online as a teenage boy.
McHaney, who appeared in federal court Saturday, was being held without bond pending a court hearing Wednesday, said Channing Phillips, a spokesman for the U.S. attorney’s office for the District of Columbia.
According to court papers, McHaney, known as Mike, tried to arrange a lunchtime meeting with an unidentified person posing as a 13-year-old boy. When the witness asked whether McHaney was interested in sex with a 13-year-old, McHaney allegedly replied, “I’ll be there,” the court papers said. He later asked for a photo of the child.
News of the arrest was first reported on The Smoking Gun Web site,
At which point, Dick is all over that like ... Larry Craig on dick:
"Go figure," Dick? Is that what you're asking us to do? Why, sure, and let's compare the two, shall we?
- Larry Craig, a currently sitting U.S. senator, with a long anti-gay voting record, versus
- James McHaney, a former aide who was a scheduler for a U.S. senator
You're right, Dick -- I can't, for the life of me, understand why those two stories might get differing levels of coverage. Just beats the shit out of me.
On the other hand, I wouldn't give up on online searches if I were you, Dick. I mean, sometimes they can produce the neatest results. Hey, like this.
I do love me some Google sometimes.
P.S. Make sure you appreciate that Dick is accusing Fox News of liberal bias.
You just can't make this stuff up, can you?
