Dear Globe and Mail:

Following a backlink to here, we find someone named Anthony Westell being dumb as a sack of retarded hammers:

You may accuse me of underestimating the effect of the loss of life among our troops. After all, as I write, 67 have been killed. Every death is a tragedy for family and friends, but we must keep things in perspective: Fifty people are killed in Toronto alone every year, many by gunfire, and many more across the country.

Hey, Globe: If I write something that fucking stupid, can I get an exclusive on your op-ed page?

Rush Limbaugh has famously compared the deaths of soldiers in Iraq to traffic fatalities. The World Nut Daily compared them to the murder rate in California. Other bloggers have drawn all sorts of specious comparisons like this. It’s unbelievable that the Globe and Mail wouldn’t have just tossed this piece of crap into the dustbin where it belongs. Our so-called liberal media... heh.

If?

Just clean up the language and I'd say you're in.

Well, at least he didn't argue that each death actually makes our military better as Harper did last year...

If we play with statistics enough we can calculate the surge in Canadian combat deaths from one year to the next growing at an appalling rate.

There were fewer than 5 deaths a year until 2006, when there were 36. In the seventh month of 2007, we're already past 20.

If it was a non-CPC government sending Canadians to die somewhere else, with such disregard, those Harper-lovers wouldn't be so complacent.

I would like to mention that thwap has done a brilliant job dissecting this egregious argument. Just go to his website and read!
