What comes after "double negative?"

"I'd like to apologize for that apology I made apologizing for my first apology ... whoa, wait a minute ..."

I believe this is the situation for which the phrase "Get a fucking life" was designed.

SCRAPE ... SCRAPE ... Yes, that sound you hear is goalposts being moved. Recall, if you will, the original hysterical, breathless accusations against CNN's Michael Ware (emphasis added):

During a live press conference in Bagdad, Senators McCain and Graham were heckled by CNN reporter Michael Ware. An official at the press conference called Ware’s conduct “outrageous,” saying, “here you have two United States Senators in Bagdad giving first-hand reports while Ware is laughing and mocking their comments.

Note first that those original accusations mentioned both McCain and Graham as being the targets of the heckling, but every single article since then has mentioned only McCain. Apparently, Graham's name was thrown in just to make it seem even more outrageous. But that's not the real crime here.

Note well how those original accusations of outrageous heckling, mocking and laughing have slowly morphed into the suggestion of, at best, "a mocking comment in a stage whisper, just loud enough for fellow journalists to hear it, but not loud enough to be picked up by microphones directed at McCain," perhaps meant only "from [sic] private consumption."

Yes, the Dumbass-o-sphere just isn't going to let this go, despite the fact that the original accusations have been watered down to the point of utter vacuousness. But don't let that stop you, guys. There has to be a pony under all that manure somewhere, right?
