Place your bets: Garth Turner edition.

Some definite "Hmmmmmmm" factor here:

OTTAWA (CP) - Independent MP Garth Turner is threatening to expose what he terms "disturbing insights" into the workings of Prime Minister Stephen Harper's Conservative government.

The former Tory member of Parliament has scheduled a news conference for Tuesday, promising to reveal what's contained in correspondence between his staff and the prime minister's office since he was ousted from the Conservative caucus. "The big issue right now is not me, but rather some disturbing insights into how the 'new' government is actually working," Turner wrote.

Dude, when you get my hopes up like that, you better deliver the goods. Nothing's more annoying than to be aroused and left hanging.

A little disappointing, actually -- maybe because I already assumed that all those things would happen. I'd vote for Garth if he were in my riding -- his principles are more important than his politics, and we could use more people like that from all the parties.

Yeah, why doesn't Turner switch to the Libs instead? Cuz they'd bust his ass out of the party quicker than the CPC did. Just look at what they did to Nunziata when he wouldn't toe the line.
Garth is about Garth, 24/7 365. When you join a party and take advantage of the party profile and platform to get elected then you shouldn't be crapping on the party and leader in public. The laundry gets done in caucus, which is supposed to be private (for any party). Any party would have shuffled Garth to the curb.
Any bargain the Greens make with Garth would be Faustian for sure.
