Yes, it's cruel but, what the hell, I can't think of anyone who deserves to get slapped around more. Recall, yet again, Kate's excitement with GOP Congressman Pete Hoekstra. And witness, if you will, yet another nail in Hoekstra's coffin:
HOEKSTRA: Well, you know, there’s 48,000 boxes of documents that we’ve acquired. I think it’s important to declassify as much of the information. I don’t know whether there was WMD or not. But what we should do is make sure that we go through the process and fully explore what Saddam was capable of doing.
I would have suggested that this was yet another nail in Kate's coffin, but that would have been pathetically redundant.
P.S. Notice how cleverly Hoekstra has redefined the issue to not what Saddam had, but what he was capable of doing. And the goalposts take yet another weaselly leap backwards.
