"I got a sense of his soul ..." He has a SOUL!?

Memmmmmmmories ... of the way we were (Vladimir Putin edition):

Mr Bush described their meeting as straightforward and effective.

He said it was time to move beyond Cold War attitudes, away from mutually assured destruction towards mutually earned respect.

"I looked the man in the eye. I found him to be very straight forward and trustworthy and we had a very good dialogue.

"I was able to get a sense of his soul.

In that case, I'll bet this recent development came as a real boot to the nads:

Russia dug in its heels Friday and indicated it would continue to resist U.S. calls to isolate Iran, saying the nuclear crisis must be solved under the aegis of the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency.

No problem ... these things happen ... lovers' quarrels and all that ... uh oh:

Kremlin is fuming after rebuke by Cheney

Simmering tensions between Russia and the United States broke into the open yesterday after U.S. Vice-President Dick Cheney accused the Kremlin of restricting the freedom of its own people and using its energy supplies as blackmail to fight democracy abroad.

The Kremlin answered sharply, saying its energy policy isn't used for political leverage and suggesting the United States needs to get used to Russia's newly assertive role in the world.

Yes, I'm thinking the U.S. is going to have to get used to a lot of countries telling it to just fuck off.

Man, it's sad when Canada has to look to Russia for a lesson in how to show some international backbone, isn't it?

Someone once said that there are three sides to every story.. yours, mine and the truth!

It doesn't seem to matter with these folks even when there exact words are presneted to them. They were taken out of context, I didn't say that, thats not what I meant! I saw a fantastic quote from Horace Mann:

"If an idot tells you the same story every day for a year, you would end by believing it. That describes the RNC (Republican News Channel a.k.a. Fox News)and this administration to a tee!
