OK, so we're all hacked off with Stephen Harper. Now what?

So, now that we've established that Stephen Harper has the integrity of his right-wing role model Commander Chimpy, now what? The obvious solution -- bring down the government at the first opportunity. I mean, he does only have a minority, so it's doable. It just requires everyone else to co-operate.

I think we can all agree that the Liberals would be on board. (Well, at least everyone who's still a Liberal would be.) The NDP? God, I would hope so, but that's still not enough to pull it off.

The Bloc? Ooh, dicey, given that Harper is pandering shamelessly to Quebec at the moment but, in the end, I think all of the other parties have a vested interest in dumping this government for the simple reason that, given the national outrage, it's not hard to believe that every one of those parties would do better in the next election than they did in this one.

And as for the electorate not wanting another election, well, I'm guessing that there's a whole bunch of folks who can't wait for the chance to vote again. And best to do this as quickly as possible while the fury is still out there. I'm pretty sure there's a lot of voters who are having a serious case of buyer's remorse right about now, and would dearly love the chance for a mulligan.
