Dear Steve: Let me try to explain this to you.

Lord Almighty, it really is a "whiny ass titty baby" wankfest over at Doofus in the Great White North, with Steve getting all moralistic and pretending he doesn't understand the difference between David Emerson and Garth Turner. Here, Steve, let me help you out.

David Emerson won election as a Liberal MP and then, when his party didn't win the election in general, he abandoned his supporters and selfishly and opportunistically walked across the floor, where he was rewarded with a brand new membership in the winning party and a prestigious cabinet post. In short, it was all about him. With me so far, Steve?

Garth Turner, on the other hand, was sitting pretty, having won election as a member of the winning party so life was pretty damned good for him. However, he was clearly upset with the total lack of ethics on the part of his party's leader and, at great political risk which might end up with him leaving the Tory caucus, spoke up to protest Stephen Harper's obscene lack of principles. In short, with Turner, it wasn't about him, it was about his principles and how he was willing to put his political career on the line for them, even at great personal cost. See how that works?

OK, we're done here. You can go back to whining now.

I've heard that Harper (or Stephen, as they call him) is way too "brilliant" for us to understand.

He thinks in the long term, not in the "superficial" present.

Sounds like that weird Bush cult thing.
