Consumer suing for lack of warnings that he's too stupid to use an iPod.

(CC News) - A Louisiana man is suing Apple Computers, claiming that Apple iPods have the potential to cause hearing loss. In his suit, John Kiel Patterson claims that the music players don't come with sufficient warnings that playing them loud could lead to deafness.

"There's nothing in the package that warns anyone about that sort of thing," said Patterson. "I mean, I checked, but I never read nothing about what to do when I started bleeding from the ears and having migraines and permanent ringing in my ears. They don't tell you anything about that, do they? Well? Do they?"

Patterson, through the same law firm, is also suing Stanley Tools, who he claims were negligent in not warning him that putting his balls on an anvil and pounding them flat with a hammer might cause sterility.

In a countersuit, Apple is suing the state of Louisiana for contaminating the gene pool with really, really stupid people.

Wasn't there a similar lawsuit against Sony in the late 1970s/early 1980s over the Walkman?

Sometimes it would seem that a law against stupidity would be appropriate. Unfortunately, it would likely get all of us at one time or another!

Too bad common sense and personal responsibility are not taken seriously by a large number of people.
