Oops, Marcus did it again.


Just when you figure you've spotted intelligent life at the Globe and Mail, along comes Marcus Gee again, with some (I'm sure) unintentional humour in the last paragraph of his most recent piece. See if you can spot the irony:

Critics say Mr. Hussein's trial is a farce, a charge that seemed to gain credence with this week's courtroom histrionics. But, as chaotic as it seems, the trial is giving Iraqis a chance to see, in graphic detail, what the cruelty of one man did to their country.

Sometimes parody just writes itself, doesn't it?
