Illegal eavesdropping, FISA and a whole new meme! Wheeee!
In truth, I'd rather get back to beating up on Canada's wankers but this whole Bush eavesdropping thing is such priceless entertainment, it needs to get whacked a little longer.
The latest bit of amusement is a whole new meme running around the right-wing wankersphere about how what Bush did was, based on the Foreign Intelligence Security Act (FISA), completely legal. Via Atrios, we learn that that claim is utter swill, but you just know that it's already the new talking point in Lower Wankerville.
Let the neo-con spin begin.
AFTERTHOUGHT: Note carefully the "UPDATE" at the end of Greenwald's piece, in which he refers to a couple of high-profile wanker bloggers who have already acknowledged the inherent dishonesty of the original claim. Will wonders never cease?

It's a silly claim. A real neo-con who buys the view that this spying was aboslutely necessary to thwart terrrorist attacks (Bush doesn't give any examples) might sincerely defend Bush. But no one who cares whatsoever about civil liberties or the rule of law could sincerely defend this.
